Questions and Answers

Can you work from an existing photo? can it be a 3' x 5" and get a larger aluminized one made?

Richard C. asked 1 year, 3 days, 23 hours, and 51 minutes ago - 1 answer

Shmuel L.

Hello, You would have to get the photo scanned as we only offer purchases from our website. with a 3x5 photo you should be okay if its scanned at 8x10.

I had looked into getting some pictures done before and was told the picture looses its quality if sent by email or uploaded and was asked to mail the original picture? Is this true, or will the picture have the loose some clarity if I upload?

lorena i. asked 1 year, 3 days, 23 hours, and 58 minutes ago - 1 answer

Shmuel L.

Hello, Sending a digital picture on our site will keep the best quality. If your digital picture, however is smaller then the size you order then it would start to loose quality. Keep in mind that even if you send in the picture it will still loose quality if the put it on a larger Aluminum then your original. When you start an order on our site there is a meter to let you know if the quality is high for the size you select.

So it had to be a digital image????- I have vintage photos and no digiital images. I don't own a digital camera.

Linda J. asked 1 year, 3 days, and 7 minutes ago - 1 answer

Shmuel L.

Hello, The only way to place an order would be for you to get your photos scanned by a local Photo Lab or someone you know that has a scanner.

If I have a 4 x 6 photo can you blow it up to 11 x 14 or 16 x 20 with the quality being good in black n white? Also what is the shipping cost for 11 /14 and 16 x 20 to deerfield beach, fl? do you charge for each photo to ship or a flat fee? when do i need to purchase this by? do you charge for each photo to ship or a flat fee? thank you

margaret l. asked 1 year, 3 days, and 21 minutes ago - 1 answer

Shmuel L.

Hello, If your 4x6 photo is not digital then you would have to get it scanned to a high resolution. shipping for 11x14 is $8.95 and 16x20 is $12.95. Each additional after the first would be half that for shipping.

What resolution should a photo be for 100% quality on each size offered?

David N. asked 1 year, 3 days, and 47 minutes ago - 1 answer

Shmuel L.

Hello, 300 DPI is best for our Aluminyzed Photos. That would be 2,400x 3000 for 8x10, 3,300x4,300 for 11x14 and 4,800x6,000.

Shmuel L. answered 1 year, 1 day, 17 hours, and 17 minutes ago

What size file is recommended for the best results for your different size options...and are the images emailed to your site or uploaded in some way?

Linda B. asked 1 year, 3 days, and 56 minutes ago - 1 answer

Shmuel L.

Hello, We require a minimum of 100 DPI for any size. In Mega Pixels that come to about 1.2MP for 8x10, 2.0 MP for 11x14 and about 4MP for 16x20. Most digital cameras would be able to use any size if you have the correct setting. Once you buy your Groupon you would place your order by uploading your image to our site at: aluminyze.com

Hello, The Wall Float comes as part of this Groupon deal. So you do not have to purchase it separately.

Is there a scatch protector on the surface?

Amy S. asked 1 year, 3 days, 1 hour, and 7 minutes ago - 1 answer

Shmuel L.

Hello, Being that the image goes inside and not on top of the surface, we do not need to add any coatings. Its resistant to scratches, but not scratch proof. If you do make a scratch it will not take off any of the image, but instead it will just scratch the surface on top of the actual image. Aluminyze Photos hold up a lot better then paper ad Canvas.

Hello, I am interested in purchasing a 16x20, but was wondering if you offer anything larger, maybe a 20x30? And would I receive a discount on the larger image? Thank you for your time.

Conan S. asked 1 year, 3 days, 1 hour, and 31 minutes ago - 1 answer

Shmuel L.

Hello, If you purchase a 16x20 Groupon you can apply the value to the 20x30 that we offer on our site.

Are these weather proof? Like to hang on a patio by the pool?

Amy K. asked 1 year, 3 days, 1 hour, and 41 minutes ago - 1 answer

Shmuel L.

Hello, These are 100% Waterproof and you can even put them in the pool :-) I would suggest you keep them out of direct sunlight as the sun fade everything faster then if they were in the shade. Aluminyze prints do however last longer then paper prints in any sun condition
