Amateur photography often leads to sinister red eyes, cropped faces, and strongly worded cease-and-desist letters from Bigfoot's attorneys. Capture visual mysteries with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $50 for a four-hour DSLR Photo Essentials class for one (a $225 value)
  • $95 for the above class for two (a $450 value)

During the comprehensive DSLR Photo Essentials class, teachers with more than 20 years of experience guide beginning photogs through the workings of DSLR cameras, acquainting them with the settings, flash, and capabilities of their own equipment. Novices learn how and when to tweak shutter speed, aperture, and white balance in order to shoot the best possible photo in every situation, from low light to stroboscopic discotheques. For this class, snap-happy pupils must bring their own DSLR camera, memory card, instruction manual, photo ID, and pirate lens patch. Students can check the schedule for class dates and times.

Balanced Exposure

With a career spanning more than 20 years, Balanced Exposure's owner, Russell Lowe, has worn many hats, including forensic photographer, wedding photographer, and commercial photographer. Russell has always had a passion for teaching, which is why he finally opened up his own studio space. He and his staff help novice photographers shake hands with their shutter button during introductory Photo Essentials classes for DSLR cameras, whereas DSLR Advanced classes lead intermediate students further into the world of flash lighting by exploring how to use external flashes, set up studio lighting, and sell paparazzi-style photos of local squirrels to National Geographic. Aspiring wedding and studio photographers hone their craft and practice postproduction techniques in the fully equipped studio, which also hosts professional portrait shoots.

The Groupon Guide to: Pranks

Television prank shows have never been more popular. Old people are pranking young people, young people are pranking young people, and middle-age life is its own kind of twisted prank. Get in on the jocular action with these fun-loving pranks:

  • Dump out the prankee's shampoo and replace it with small, round lead pellets.
  • Replace the prankee's delicious, wet-centered eggs with useless hard-boiled eggs.
  • Set free all of your prankee's horses and valuable livestock.
  • Switch the contents of your prankee's suitcase with the contents of someone else's suitcase at the airport. You've actually pranked two people, you goofy monster.
  • Switch identities with your prankee (unless they have a criminal record or bad spouse).

Is anyone pranking middle-aged people?

Reviews

  • This was the best basic photography class I have taken. I finally get how to use my dslr beyond the "auto" button.
