Why is this deal completely unaccessible to African American members by virtue of the fact that NONE of the story books can be personalized to represent a black or brown child. Began looking at it because it seemed like a wonderful gift only to realize it wasn't truly meant to be bought by anyone who looks like me. Please do better.

We’re very eager to add this and if you send us an email at help@mychroniclebooks.com, we’ll alert you when the feature will be included. Please note that most of our books include the option of uploading a photograph of your child on the dedication page (where you can write a special message). Several people have answered that "you will forfeit the remaining voucher amount" if your order doesn't add up to $40. Can someone explain this? Why do you have the deal for a personalized book but the amount has to be $40? Thank you.

Hello Rachel, the deal is for as many personalized books or gifts you buy on mychroniclebooks.com. You can personalize books but also children's gifts such as growth charts ($39.99), placemats ($11.99), gift cards ($3.99), wall art ($99.99), lunchboxes ($29.99), original school supplies, stickers ($4.99) and more. Your groupon says you must use all your promotional value in one order, so if the order total isn’t $40 or more, not including shipping and tax, your voucher code will apply but you will forfeit the remaining voucher amount.

I wanted to buy vouchers for four books as four different friends had babies this year. The limit is 3 but do I have to place each order separately or can I complete one order and just reference the voucher information for each book? If so, if there is any amount left over can I use that toward a 4th book?

Hi Lisa. You can only apply one voucher code per order and the promotional value must be used in one order. You cannot use any left over in another order. But you can buy as many personalized books as you wish per order. if you're interested in buying 4 different personalized books, you could also consider the voucher option of buying $49 for $100 worth of personalized books and gifts on mychroniclebooks.com. Hello Karcie, you can order as many personalized products as you wish, but if the order total isn’t $40 or more, not including shipping and tax, you will forfeit the remaining voucher amount. As we’re still working out this kind of personalization, I can’t promise that it will be ready in time by March 2013. I’d hate to disappoint you if it takes longer to launch. I am interested in purchasing the Speedster book. My child is African-American. Is the Caucasian child the only option? I saw that a photo can be uploaded. Is the photo used to make the book more accurate?

Hi Angelique, Though our books don’t yet include this personalization, we’re working on the technology now to let customers personalize race or skin tone in our books for 2013. And yes, the photograph upload definitely allows you to include your child in both the dedication page (where you can write a special message) and in the Driver’s License on page 7 (see the preview).
