is this a fuel cell sensor?

Lee M. asked 6 months, 3 days, 14 hours, and 36 minutes ago - 1 answer

Patrick S.

Hi Lee! This is not a fuel cell model. This is a personal model using gas semiconductor technology designed for a helpful reference if used according to instruction.

How accurate is it?

Kelly K. asked 6 months, 3 days, 15 hours, and 46 minutes ago - 1 answer

Patrick S.

Hi Kelly! The manufacturer claims that it is accurate to +/-0.01%, but if instructions are not followed then the accuracy can be skewed.

Hi - I don't think the dimensions stated are correct, as it appears to fit in the palm of your hand. Stated Dimensions: 5″x1″x7” Can you please check the dimensions of the actual unit - these may be the shipping carton's dimensions.....

Edward S. asked 6 months, 3 days, 15 hours, and 56 minutes ago - 1 answer

Patrick S.

Hi Edward! The dimensions of the actual unit are 1 1/2" x 3/4" x 4".

Patrick S. answered 6 months, 2 days, 19 hours, and 14 minutes ago

1) Is exactly 1000 (and actually rated for more to be sure of accuray) and then it cuts off or does it become inaccurate "around" 1000 uses. 2) Are there any places other than the company that have done testing to verify accuracy of the device, and if not, what is the makers claim about accuracy?

kenneth e. asked 6 months, 3 days, 16 hours, and 5 minutes ago - 1 answer

Patrick S.

Hi Kenneth! Moisture and condensation can build up on the sensor over time. This causes corrosion on the sensor surface that will prevent the tester from displaying accurate results after 1000 uses of the average breath moisture sample. The tester can be re-calibrated by using 2-3 times without blowing until results read 0.00 after this time, but it is not recommended. It is recommended that the tester be recycled after a period of 5 years or 1000 uses- whichever comes first.

No one other than the manufacturer has tested this device. They use state-of-the-art testing equipment to insure that each unit is calibrated to 0.00 before it is factory packaged and claim that the sensor is accurate +/-0.01% . Please note that you must wait 10-15 minutes after the last drink for an accurate result.
