Choose from Three Options

  • $199 for a Christmas-light-installation service for a one- or two-story home (up to a $795 value)
  • $469 for a Christmas-light-installation service for a one-story home including lights (a $900 value)
  • $499 for a Christmas-light-installation service for a two-story home including lights (a $1,350 value)

Sure-footed crews will climb ladders to attach up to 150 feet of lights onto a roofline and place lights on two trees, with up to 150 feet of lights per tree. Customers must provide lights for the first option, and the second and third options both include the necessary stands of lights, a solar timer, an extension cord, and a storage box. For the second and third options, two extension cords and a storage box are also included. For all three options, crews provide roof-attachment clips and will schedule return visits starting the first full week of 2013 to remove the lights.

C.D. Northwest

In 2009, current owner and native Oregonian Chris Peterson revived his family’s defunct, nearly 20-year-old roofing business with the decision to make eco-friendly practices the foundation of C.D. Northwest’s roof-strengthening services. Chris threw all the know-how he had gained from growing up with the company and the knowledge he accrued earning a degree in business administration into reopening C.D. Northwest’s doors. Now, Chris and his small crew of dedicated workers tend to roofs on commercial buildings and residential homes, from bungalows and ranches to three-story Victorians made of glass. That eco-friendly mission has held fast, forming the basis for even the most basic services, such as scouring roofs with a nontoxic cleaning chemical. To keep Mother Nature and karma on its side, the team at C.D. Northwest continually contributes to a variety of charities including Friends of Trees and the SMART program, which aims to teach kids how to read.

The Groupon Guide to: Things That Are Safe or Not Safe to Put in Your Mouth

Everything looks delicious these days, but only some things are actually safe to put in your mouth. Here's a guide to things that look good enough to eat:

Marbles: Safe
Reason: Rubbing marbles against your teeth will wear them down to rounded nubs that feel much better against the tongue.

Sponge: Not Safe
Reason: You'll put a nice, dry sponge in there, and when it comes out it's going to be full of saliva and completely unsanitary to wash dishes with.

Laundry-Detergent Pods: Not Safe
Reason: This yummy candy burns the mouth.

Universal Remote: Safe
Reason: Thousands of uniquely flavored buttons will make your taste buds feel like they’re at the greatest circus of their lives.

Bread: Not Safe
Reason: The worst hazard of them all—there is no way to breathe through bread.

Are there any foods that don't pose an immediate choking hazard?
