Commonly Asked Questions

Where are you located? Is it possible to hand carry my order to you...and pick it up too? Mary

Mary D. asked 7 months, 14 days, 13 hours, and 17 minutes ago - 1 answer

Nicole S.

Hi Mary! We currently have two facilities. Our photography processing center is located in Torrance, CA. We process all photography orders and some film and video in that facility. We also have a film and video facility in Ashland, MO. If you are not local to one of our facilities, we do have shipping options available when you place your order. When you place your order, you have the option to select UPS Ground shipping for $10 or you can select self shipping. The UPS Ground shipping is a flat rate for packages up to 50 pounds. All orders will be returned via UPS Ground for $10.

Is there an option to transfer only a specific segment from a VHS tape instead of transferring the entire tape?

Lauren B. asked 7 months, 10 days, 15 hours, and 1 minute ago - 1 answer

Nicole S.

Hi Lauren! You can designate a stopping point, but we must start from the beginning of the tape.

I have 8mm tapes to be transferred. Can you advise which groupon to purchase? And all I need to do is send them to you? Once they are transferred am I able to make copies for other family members? Thanks

Amcdonald asked 7 months, 10 days, 19 hours, and 43 minutes ago - 1 answer

Nicole S.

Hi Amcdonald! That would depend on the number of tapes you have to transfer. With the premium transfer, tapes that are two hours or less are transferred for $19.95. Tapes that are more than two hours are transferred for $19.95 for every two hours. Once you receive your Groupon code, you can place your order at https://www.scandigital.com/order-form.php. Yes, you will be able to make your own copies or you can order additional copies from us for $12.95 each.

Hi -- had a follow up question. In a prior answer, you said that in order to have a slide show from a DVD player I would need to request that and pay an additional $10. I want these slides to be as versatile as possible in terms of future use. I want to be able to have them be a slide show on my TV from my DVD player, I will want to be able to view them from my notebook computer DVD, and I will want to be able to copy them to its or another hard drive and view them from those hard drives so I can put the DVD into a safety deposit box. I will also want to be able to print them out from my computer selectively. Will that all be possible from a DVD player disc you mention? If not, how do I accomplish all of these objectives? Also, how much for additional copies of a DVD that can do all of this? Thank you!!

George G. asked 7 months, 10 days, 20 hours, and 12 minutes ago - 1 answer

Nicole S.

Hi George! The basic slideshow is just a movie formatted disc, you won't be able to access additional files. It's purely intended for viewing on your DVD player. However, you would still receive your standard data disc with the individual jpeg files. You would receive two separate discs if you order the basic slideshow.

To clarify- if you transfer a Vhs or super 8 cassete to DVD, I can only play it on a computer? I will not be able to make copies of it? The only way I can make copies is to provide or purchase an external hard drive? You mention that 2 hour tapes require 30 GB of free space. Is that true if the VHS or Super 8 has only 1 hour of video? If I purchase an external hard drive from you, how many GB will it have available? I have 4 Super 8 and 5 VHS. I also have 8 DVD that were processed on a program my computer cannot copy. These are all school performances, so there is no copyright infringement.

Karen A. asked 7 months, 11 days, 6 hours, and 35 minutes ago - 1 answer

Nicole S.

Hi Karen! The DVDs will be playable on your DVD player and your computer. You will also be able to make copies. Expert transfer includes both DVDs and AVI files of your footage. We recommend estimating up on the hard drive size to avoid any delays due to a lack of storage space. Our hard drive is 500 GB. Unfortunately, we cannot process digital to digital materials.

are the dvd editable?

joan m. asked 7 months, 11 days, 10 hours, and 40 minutes ago - 1 answer

Nicole S.

Hi Joan! That would depend upon the format you send in to us. Photo DVDs are not editable but you can copy the images from the disc onto your computer for editing. Video DVDs are also not editable. For video orders, I would recommend our expert transfer for editable files.

Debra J. asked 7 months, 11 days, 11 hours, and 16 minutes ago - 1 answer

Nicole S.

Hi Debra! That's going to come out to about $441 over your Groupon. If you would like to purchase the hard drive from us, that will be an additional charge of $119.95. Thanks for your interest!
