DC Scores provides children with after-school programming focused on physical activity and literacy, and during summer vacation the organization extends its efforts via free summer camps that offer kids safe, organized, healthy activities that help encourage fitness.
During a DC Scores summer camp, children from area elementary and middle schools can play, exercise, and build friendships through a variety of activities such as soccer, enjoying more than 15 hours of robust physical activity every week. DC Scores offers 10 weeks of camp throughout the summer, serving more than 200 children. Youth are provided a nutritious snack each day of participation and the combination of exercise and nutritious foods helps DC Scores campers enjoy a healthier summer. Like the summer program itself, snacks are provided free of charge.
