Choose Between Two Options

Throughout six weeks, children learn skills such as washes, brush strokes, paint mixing, and values before creating their own pieces and leaving each class with a new piece of art. Adults delve into the art of watercolor by learning the basics of color mixing, washes, and brush strokes before they create their own paintings.

Students should bring their own brushes and paints; the instructor can provide supplies for an additional cost. The six-week kids’ watercolor class begins Tuesday, January 8 and is held each Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Adult workshops are held Tuesday, December 4; Tuesday, January 8; or Tuesday, January 22 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

DeeAnne ART

Artist and instructor Debra Banna makes learning art as accessible as possible for her students. The veteran teacher and former children’s librarian studied art at the Attleboro Art Museum and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society. Conducting lessons at local libraries, churches, and students’ homes, Banna teaches kids how to create their own cartoon characters and helps adults paint realistic depictions of their feelings.
