Using dental implants topped with porcelain crowns, Dr. Andrew Kelly eliminates gaps in smiles caused by missing or damaged teeth. During the first visit, Dr. Kelly takes x-rays and 3-D CT scans of patients’ mouths to assess the condition of their teeth and jaws. Metal implants are then installed into jaws on the second visit, with a followup exam taking place after two weeks to check the progress and make any necessary adjustments. Once the implant is fully fused to the jaw, which may take up to six months, Dr. Kelly takes impressions for the crown and attaches an abutment to the implant. After three to four weeks, the doctor attaches the crown to the abutment to complete the implant procedure and restore a full smile.
