Choose from Three Options

All classes are for beginner-level students. During the Beginning Bead-Making class, students first learn safety tips and basics before shaping molten glass into fetching beads. Students make a total of six beads.

Introduction to glass-fusing class teaches students how to cut glass into small pieces before fusing them into distinct designs. Here, the students will craft two sushi plates.

The introductory glass-blowing class arms students with the basic skills to turn hot glass into intricate artwork, such as the two paper weights they will make during the session. All classes are kept small to ensure maximum teacher-student interaction.

Design with Fire

Owners Patrick Mullen and Linnea Wong opened Design with Fire in 2008 to ignite a fiery passion for glass art throughout the community. Mullen, Wong, and their staff of torch-wielding artists call upon their extensive backgrounds in glass manipulation to equip students with the glass-blowing, glass-fusing, and lampworking skills needed to complete an array of projects. During hands-on classes, students learn how to create their own magnum opuses in the form of colorful beads, shimmering jewelry, unique wall hangings, and light-catching vases that empower plants to grow into Cabbage Patch Kids.

In a Nutshell
