During each three-hour glass-slumping workshop, students use stainless-steel molds to create an original vase. First, they'll study how heat from kiln transforms the glass. Then, they'll create the essential form by cutting a flat sheet of glass, and use cold-working techniques, such as grinding, sanding, and sawing, to shape interesting edges and enamels. Finally, heat from a 1,300-degree glass kiln will transform the decorative glass sheet into a one-of-a-kind vase.

Alternatively, students of the three-hour dichroic glass jewelry workshop learn how to create glass earrings and pendants using an electric kiln and provided jewelry findings. Participants assemble their jewelry in three-layer designs with a variety of glass patterns, colors, and textures. Afterward, students marvel as their unfired designs transform into one solid piece in a 1,475-degree kiln. Once solidified, designs are embellished with metal jewelry findings.

Glass designs finished in the slumped glass workshop will be ready for pickup in two days while glass jewelry designs will be ready the following day, or either can be shipped for an additional fee.
