This membership is for a single person: Here is a link to see all our member options. http://detroithistorical.org/membership/buy-or-renew-your-membership While technically only one member of the family has a membership our museum is completely free for the next year, and the ability to purchase up to three discounted tickets for paid Detroit Historical Society Events (Behind the Scenes Tours etc.), free parking at the museum, a subscription to the Making History Newsletter and more. After you purchase this offer, pull up your Groupon with our mobile app or go to the "My Groupons" section of your account (or to My Gifts if you are giving this as a gift) and click the view voucher link. Then, follow the redemption instructions on your voucher.

Terry L: Thanks for your interest! As Brette said, the Groupon just needs to be activated by Jan. 30, 2013, but it will indeed be active for a full year based on whatever date you choose to activate it. You can come here to the museum to activate it keeping in mind our public reopening is November 23rd. This might not be the easiest day to activate your membership because of the large crowds we are expecting opening weekend. I would recommend calling our office and talking to Alanna (313-833-7938) and activating it over the phone before say November 9th. This way, you can attend our member preview event Sunday, November 18th at noon before the public reopening, and we can get you your member cards out in the mail. Sorry for the confusion. Your membership just needs to be activated by 1/30/13. You will have a full year of membership from the activation date.
