With a brigade of certified yoga instructors on staff, Dharma Yoga is able to pack its schedule with 26 classes each week. Classes range from the athletic Vinyasa flow, in which continuous postures are linked together with mindful breaths, to the studio's signature Dharma yoga classes, which infuse meditative practice with Buddhist themes and moderate Hatha-yoga poses. Practitioners of all experience levels are welcome.

Dharma Yoga

At Dharma Yoga’s recently erected, 2,400-square-foot studio, flickering candlelight gives the earth-tone hues and gleaming hardwood floors an inviting glow. Like stumbling into a lounge-singer convention, the studio’s comforting vibes relax the mind with calming music as the band of certified instructors gently guides students of all experience levels through a series of healing physical postures. Though classes vary in style—ranging from the dynamic Vinyasa flow to slower-paced meditative classes—each session explores traditional Indian yoga and Buddhist practices.

In the course of more than a decade of teaching and practicing yoga, Dharma Yoga founder Keith Kachtick has served as the senior instructor with the Lineage Project, a nonprofit that offers meditation and yoga practice to prisoners in the New York City area. Keith has also contributed his yogic philosophies to publications such as Yoga Journal, Newsweek, and the New York Times. His codirector, Camilla, has a master’s degree in social work and a background as a clinical therapist. These experiences fuel her nurturing teaching style, especially in yoga-therapy sessions, which are designed to help to release physical, emotional, and mental tension.

The Groupon Guide to: Being Too Big for Your Britches

No one likes people who are boastful—especially if they can’t back it up with substance. Consult this helpful guide to find out if you are too big for your britches:

  • Does your mouth write checks your butt can’t cash?
  • Is the volume of your bark disproportionate to the incapacitating power of your bite?
  • Do people condescendingly affix “mister” to the front of your name?
  • Are you all bluster and no muster?
  • Has anyone ever held you in place by affixing their palm against the top of your head while their abdomen stayed just out of reach of your windmilling fists?
  • Do you have to constantly pull up your trousers because they’re all that’s left of your father, a husky fighter pilot whose last words to you were “I have to go away for a while, champ”?

How can you tell if you’re too big for your britches? This guide can help you out.
