If there weren’t “elements of striptease” I’d buy it. I don’t buy into the idea that stripping is empowering.

Sounds fun, why not try it?!

Thank you for your feedback. We really don’t ‘strip’ in the classes. There is no nudity at all. Also, please read our mission statement so you can better understand our philosophy. Mission:
Our mission is to provide a fun, supportive and inspiring environment for women to get fit and explore and awaken their own beauty. We are dedicated to offering well rounded classes based on years of teaching experience and student response. Our goal is for you to look and feel beautiful as you master the art of pole dancing.

Philosophy:
Divine Movement Dance is dedicated to awakening beauty, elegance and playfulness. We are about grace, strength, passion, and integrity.

We believe that there is a profound difference between power and empowerment. Empowering women into a happy, healthy relationship with their bodies while encouraging self respect and integrity is our goal. Divine Movement encourages women to take ownership of their bodies in a positive and loving way. Because of this we discourage the use of our sexuality to gain power and we do not encourage using our bodies as a means for financial gain.

Our classes are held in a private, women only environment as we respect the art of the dance as an intimate journey and a discovery of the joy of being a woman. No nudity is involved and there is no audience. We encourage women to rediscover the value of their feminine identity and to experience the joy of the complex, mysterious, creative and awesome female design we‘ve been blessed with.

I take a pole dancing class at another place. It is not about “stripping”, but getting a fun workout that also encourages you to develop a positive view of your body. I have also learned that real pole dancing strippers (not the kind that just grind on a pole or dance next to it) are very talented as pole dancing is NOT easy!

I’ve been taking classes with Divine Movement for over 3 months, and I highly recommend going at least once. I do not dance FOR anyone, just myself, and the enjoyment, relaxation, and confidence that going to these classes has brought me is something I think everyone should experience. It truly allows you to feel like you’ve brought “the woman” aspect of yourself back into your life. Whether you fit into the categories of “professional woman” or “homemaker”, these classes will make you feel like there is much more to you than “what you do”. Everyone’s got a different style, different talents, different ways of moving. It really gives you the chance to reinvent yourself, and to be creative and have fun with it, in a cool, relaxing, safe environment.
