What does in store only mean in a deli?
What a great Groupon! I love Dom’s- For every bbq since I was a kid, we have bought meats there!! The marinated steak tips and turkey tips are to die for!! You will not be disappointed- I am psyched!
Michael- there is a store associated with their website. You cant use this for online purchases
Michael- I think they do catering too, I think they are just saying that you can’t use this groupon for catering services.
I go to Dom’s at least once a week for the amazing steak tips, turkey tips, and marinated chicken. The staff is friendly, the prices are great, and the meat is beyond words. This is an amazing deal!
Dom’s is flat-out the best butcher in the Boston area.

Hi Everyone! I am Melanie from Dom’s— as you have all read on the groupon that we are family owned and operated (and I am proud to say that I am third generation). Thank you all for buying in on this Dom’s groupon deal (new and seasoned customers). I will be checking in on the discussion board to answer any questions you may have.
Let’s start with:
Michael and Jennifer- we do have a superb catering department and yes you can use your groupon towards it.
Our groupon is valid in-store only— so we will not honor it toward an online purchase. You can only redeem your groupon in person at our store as well.
Oh, we are also having a special sale on our Dom’s Patriot Tips starting tomorrow through Sunday to kick off the start of the Patriot’s football season! $7.99 per lb. (great deal) If you like the Dom’s Original Steak Tips then you will love our Patriot Tips for sure!

Does the coupon apply to the marinated meats (steak tips) or is it just for the deli meat and sausage?
Does the full value have to be used at once?
Susan, it states in the FAQ section that yes, you need to use the full value of the groupon in one visit. Surely you’d be able to spend $20 at the butcher shop/deli in one visit. If your thinking about using it to buy a sub for lunch then get a couple more people who want subs and they can give you the cash towards their sandwiches or buy some meats to bring home with you while your there.
Is there going to be a September sale out soon? Are the August sale prices still standing?
Catherine, the groupon applies to all product at dom’s, anything in our deli or butcher shop.
Susan, when you bring in your groupon voucher to redeem at our store we will activate a Dom’s gift card for you (value $20). You may at that time choose to spend the whole amount or you can just buy a sub (and have $$ left over on the card). On our deal we have limited the number of groupons / gift cards to 2. If you bought in on 2 groupons you will receive 2 Dom’s gift cards for $20 each. The rules are that you can only use one gift card per visit: example— you buy $50 worth of marinated meat and want to use both gift cards tomorrow (worth $40)— we will only let you use one card for that visit. You just will have to visit us again to use the other one. Hope this answer helps. :)
Kelly, I have our website providers working to put up our weekend sale on the patriot steak tips $7.99 per lb. The August sale prices have ended and we should have the new September sale ad up Monday or Tuesday.
where are our coupons? we were coming to shop during lunch break—signed up at 8 am…

You cannot use your Groupon until tomorrow. That is part of the standard Groupon policy. It should be in your account within a few minutes to an hour of your purchase.

You have to print the Groupon receipt out and show it to us at the register, then we can activate your gift card. Your Groupon voucher will have your name and a customer number on the upper right hand side (we will be cross checking that name and number off of our master list of people that bought in on this groupon deal).

If you do not show us the printed groupon voucher then we can’t give you a gift card (how would we know if you really bought in on the deal).

Melanie – Dom’s had a great idea with this Groupon. I forwarded the info to my sister. We grew up in Malden and she never even realized you were open to the public.
Just a business question for Melanie… Why bother with the extra steps/cost of creating and then processing of the gift card for you and your staff. We all bought them with the clear instructions that we had to use all $20 in one purchase… Why not just take the coupons from us .. Your lines get long on a good day – let alone w/ a Groupon .. I can only imagine adding these extra steps to your small cash out area will make it nuts . Just a thought ..
For those concerned about trekking to Malden, Dom’s is pretty easy to get to. It’s in the southwest corner of Malden and if you pick a low-traffic time of day, it takes about 12-minutes to drive to Dom’s from the Back Bay (I pass it every day going between work in the city and home).
Also, when, oh when, will Groupon make the pre-purchase messaging EVEN CLEARER that Groupons aren’t for same-day-as-purchase use? To me, it’s clear already. But I don’t think I’ve seen a single Groupon discussion where there isn’t at least one buyer freaking out because they thought they could USE the Groupon on the same day they purchased it.
Does anyone know if you can use it for the other meat there as well???
Melanie, I don’t mean to be greedy, but can I buy more then one groupon (say, spend 30$ for 60$ worth of food?). Also, do you have Mother Goose Liverwurst (I could spend the whole 60$ right there)?

Good point, my bad. We are new to this Groupon thing. You are right— we will take your groupon voucher and take off the $20 amount from your receipt total (skipping the gift card activation). Everyone must spend the $20 at the time of their visit to Dom’s.

Our Groupon states that there is a limit of 2 per person- and you can only use one per visit with us, so $20 each time.

Melanie – I typically buy Dom’s meats at stores closer to me in Reading and North Reading. Can I use the Groupon to purchase from them?

ok, I have a question..I just printed my coupon..On it, it says, “remember to tip, and tip generously” I never tipped when I went shopping for food in my life.. This isn’t a restaurant and I am wondering, is this what we have to do, is tip??

We LOVE DOM’S!!!! Best steak tips!!!!! We go there a couple times a month and stock up on the tips and marinated chicken.

Thanks for such a great response to today’s deal. I just want to make sure that everyone is clear on the redemption limits for today’s deal.
1. Each person can only redeem 2 Groupons total.
2. Only 1 Groupon can be redeemed per visit.
3. In order for 1 person to redeem 2 Groupons, you would need to make two separate trips to Dom’s – which is a great idea because it is so awesome!
4. If you purchased more than 2 Groupons, you must give these away to other people. Any one individual cannot redeem more than two Groupons total under any circumstances.

I purchased 2 groupons (Dom’s sausage) for my sister Marilyn Dalton, with her name, credit card # and address. ( She doesn’t have a computer) and I purchased 2 Groupons for myself as well, with my name & credit card and address. I hope it will go through. I ttried to call your customer service, but they were cloosed.

That should be fine- print out all 4 groupons— give 2 to your sis and keep the other 2 print outs for yourself. You will need to show and give the printed voucher to us at Dom’s.
So, can I use my groupon today? Just kidding.
Actually, I am new to buying groupons as gifts. I wrote in the name of the recipient, but chose the print it myself option. When I go to print they all have my name on them. Will that be an issue if I am giving them to 3 different friends?
BTW—I never would have known about this place if you hadn’t done a groupon—and I am right in Melrose. We have been searching for a good butcher!

I bought 3 under my name but 1 is for someone else. Groupon sent me an e-mail telling me to edit one but I can’t. Can I cross out my name and put the recipient’s?
I bought 4 under my name and was planning on giving 2 away as gifts. I also received the email from groupon and cannot edit my purchase. Now what?
I got the email about the multiple purchases. I bought some for friends but thought I’d better cancel my order and reorder the extra as gifts. Now I can see my gifts but I have 2 orders under my name. Can you tell me the quantities under these 2 ? I want to make sure the large was cancelled. Thanks
I went to view my groupons to cancel one of the orders and I don’t see any option to “edit” my purchase as it says per the email. I bought 3 total and was going to give one to my mother, does this mean I need to cancel one and re-purchase it as a “gift”?

We used our groupons today. It was a great first visit. They were setup to handle the volume and they were super friendly and accomodating (our kids got lollypops, which makes everyone happy).
We bbq’d the tips, ground beef, and dogs. The burgers and dogs were solid, but the tips were really absolutely fantastic. Great experience and they are close enough to our home that we will be back.
