Flipping a tire end over end is both a common boot-camp exercise and a gross misunderstanding of what the wheel was meant to do. Rethink conventions with this Groupon.

Downtown Athletic Club

A part of downtown Eugene since 1985, Downtown Athletic Club and its three historic buildings house more than 100,000 square feet of fitness amenities and community services. Corridors open into stretches of sports courts—including basketball, handball, and racquetball—and forests of cardio and strength-training equipment. In private studios, certified instructors lead a variety of fitness classes, such as yoga, Zumba, and personal training. Meanwhile coaches oversee swim lessons and aquatic aerobics and host adult swim teams at the lap pool and onsite fitness pool.

In addition to fitness services, the club strives to create a communal relationship among its members with social events. Childcare professionals conduct an interactive and educational state-certified preschool, along with a wide range of themed summer camps. Throughout the week, the club holds special events for its adult members, from book clubs to wine and beer tasting at its onsite, rooftop restaurant The Ax Billy Grill. Every Saturday night, the grill invites guests to carouse to live music while sampling selections from its menu of wine, beer, and American grill-style fare. The club also has an expansive banquet facilities open up for weddings, private parties, and members-only games of duck, duck, goose.

The Groupon Guide to: Friends Spinoffs

Now that Friends spinoff and ratings juggernaut Joey has finished its critically acclaimed eighth season, here’s a look back at some of the less successful Friends spinoffs:

Chandler, etc. — Smart aleck Chandler gets more than he bargains for when the flea-market sofa he bargains for also contains a deed to Windberry Manor—the most haunted mansion in town.

Buffay of Lies — After a comical hunting accident claims the life of her sister Ursula, sweet-natured but ditzy Phoebe permanently assumes the role of her deceased twin.

Ramona’s Here — Entitled Ramona gets her famous haircut again, but that won’t help her adapt to marriage with a small-town Florida sheriff played by DJ Qualls.

Now That’s Ross! — Pathetic, bumbling nerd Ross is framed for arson and sent to prison, where his book smarts are no match for his fellow inmates’ relentless fear tactics.

Bing! — A second attempt at a Chandler spinoff. This time he runs a hotel and there’s a bell that always makes the sound of his name.

Central Pork — Live, costumed pigs reenact “The One Where Monica and Richard Are Just Friends.”

Which Friends spinoff featured a cast of mostly ghosts?
