I asked the question about shaving a few days ago and want to understand. So, lasers are effective on areas where hair is not visibly present? Once the first treatment is performed, do you then wait for some hair to grow back before the next treatment? Also, what about blonde hair? Do the Alma lazers work on blonde hair? Thank you

Yes, the laser treatments are most effective when the hair is as close to the skin as possible. We recommend that our clients shave within 24 hours before each treatment. The number of times you shave the area in between treatments is your preference. You do not need to let the hair grow. Yes, alma lasers can treat ALL SKIN/HAIR TYPES.

Thank you for your question. Yes, Alma lasers are safe to use on ALL SKIN/ HAIR TYPES. In our office, all of the laser hair removal treatments are performed by registered nurses who have been extensively trained and are experienced treating all skin/hair types.

Why do you have to shave the area before having a laser treatment? This seems counter intuitive to me since shaving makes hair grow in faster and more course?

Thank you for your question. The area has to be shaved prior to being treated to increase the effectiveness of the treatment. The hair needs to be in the follicle and that it why waxing, threading, and tweezing is not recommended throughout the treatment process. If there is not a hair in the follicle, there is nothing for the laser to treat. Therefore, shaving and/or trimming the hair in the treatment area are the best options. When the hair is flush with the skin, the energy from the laser is concentrated and delivered down to the follicle which is then damaged.
