Acupuncture is said to unblock the body’s energy pathways, similar to the way a busy sidewalk is easily cleared by poking pedestrians with a javelin. Remove troublesome obstacles with this Groupon.

Deep-tissue massage is a slow-moving modality that addresses muscle tissues, tendons, and fascia in order to relieve chronic pain. A medicinal Chinese form of bodywork, tui-na massage increases the flow of energy throughout the body through rhythmic compression along energy meridians. The massage incorporates many different motions, including gliding, kneading, and friction, to reduce inflammation and relieve chronic pain.

Dr. Zhou's Acupuncture, Pain and Wellness Clinic

As an accomplished doctor of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), Dr. Xiping Zhou, MDOM asserts that his application of TMC is "beyond needles... beyond pain," as he once told Isthmus in a lengthy profile about his practice. His approach to acupuncture, in fact, transcends the boundaries of traditional therapies. Although many holistic practitioners eschew Western medicine, Dr. Zhou established his belief in its benefits, such as modern diagnosis technology used with traditional Eastern healing modalities, when he joined Columbia-St. Mary's Hospital in 1999 as the first acupuncturist on staff at a Wisconsin hospital.

Dr. Zhou now performs acupuncture in his own 6,500-square-foot facility, drawing what he sees as the best elements from multiple healthcare philosophies to treat chronic pain and infertility and to encourage weight loss. In feng shui–style rooms, computerized diagnostic equipment sits alongside maps of the body's chi. A staff of eight massage therapists, three acupuncturists and two doctors of Chinese medicine are on hand to help him to combine modern and traditional treatments.

The Groupon Guide to: Things That Are Safe or Not Safe to Put in Your Mouth

Everything looks delicious these days, but only some things are actually safe to put in your mouth. Here's a guide to things that look good enough to eat:

Marbles: Safe
Reason: Rubbing marbles against your teeth will wear them down to rounded nubs that feel much better against the tongue.

Sponge: Not Safe
Reason: You'll put a nice, dry sponge in there, and when it comes out it's going to be full of saliva and completely unsanitary to wash dishes with.

Laundry-Detergent Pods: Not Safe
Reason: This yummy candy burns the mouth.

Universal Remote: Safe
Reason: Thousands of uniquely flavored buttons will make your taste buds feel like they’re at the greatest circus of their lives.

Bread: Not Safe
Reason: The worst hazard of them all—there is no way to breathe through bread.

Are there any foods that don't pose an immediate choking hazard?
