Questions and Answers
Hi K. Smith
The menu sampler menu can be found by clicking “locations” and choosing the San Jose Market Center location, you will see a button called “menu sampler”, click on that to see the menu sampler selection. On the website right now you can see both the January and February menu sampler menus. With this “Groupon” you are under no obligation to purchase more than the 18 servings. Call the store to place your order.
Just some constructive feedback for the Dream Dinners.
1. Your imagery is not great. a,the 1st picture is ?. b, the 3rd picture is a bit washed out or over-exposed basically none look very appetizing.
2. Your name (dream dinners) does it really speak to what you are providing your customer.
(convenience, quality, gourmet)
3. Logo: I get the idea (bird w/ fork= food w/ a delivery component) but not good execution the bird looks like a dove thus the idea of peace over rides from the beginning bluring the further message.

Hi Phillip,
I am sorry you feel that way but we are really proud to be featuring Dream Dinners on Groupon San Jose today. Groupon has had positive experiences working with the national company with the locations that Dream Dinners has across the country in Groupon cities as customers rave about their quality of food. Keep your eye on Groupon for an offer that is more appealing to you!

Deal is supposed to be for $110 worth of dinners. Looking at the Sampler Menu, it shows a $75 value at the bottom of the page. Where is the other $35 coming from??

I just discovered the same info. as Colin P. I’ve emailed the store, but it may be too early for them to respond. Any feedback on this Lauren?
The menu sampler price of $75 is meant to be an introductory special that has some savings built into it for first time guests to try the dinners. The $110 value is an average cost of 18 servings when you look at the pricing on the main menu.
Do you have to buy all 18 servings (i.e. six dinners) at once? My freezer is not terribly big
Yes, you would do all six dinners at once. Most are packaged in gallon sized freezer bags and some come in a pan. On the on-line menu it will tell you how the dinner is packaged. When you take your dinners home any dinners that you will use in the first 3 days can be put in your refrigerator, the rest will go in your freezer. I think you will be pleasantly surprised how well they will fit into your freezer.
Is there a way to see the sampler menus without having to register? I don’t want to give my information to a site unless I know I will be doing business with them.
I just want to say that this Dream Dinners location is fabulous. The staff is friendly, the meals are great and I would highly recommend this. It has worked out great for my family.

Hi Kerry,
Barbara at Dream Dinners had provided the answer to this question above when KSmith asked the question. I have copied the response and pasted it below for your convenience.
“The menu sampler menu can be found by clicking “locations” and choosing the San Jose Market Center location, you will see a button called “menu sampler”, click on that to see the menu sampler selection. On the website right now you can see both the January and February menu sampler menus.”
Enjoy and get your Groupon!
Lauren from Groupon
I am not sure about how you get around that but here is a list of the dinners on the January Menu Sampler (for descriptions, please look at the main menu):
Pub Style Chicken with Mashed Potatoes
Buffalo Chicken Stuffed French Bread
Ranch House Chicken and Potatoes
French Country Chicken
TexMex BBQ Turkey Wraps
Kids Choice Cheesy Chicken and Rice
Baked Chicken Tetrazzini
Hawaiian Chicken with Jasmine Rice
Orangey Asian Chicken
Lemon Chicken Piccata
Hope that helps!
Hi, Lauren-
I did follow those instructions. When I click on the ‘menu sampler’ button, it takes me to a ‘Menu Sampler Account Log In’ page. I do not see a way to view either sampler menu without creating an account. Perhaps I am missing something?
Thanks, Barbara!
I have been doing Dream Dinners for at least a year – my sister and I go together. The food is high quality, the cooking instructions are correct and easy to follow, the staff is friendly and helpful. I am suspicious of all “deals”, but since I know this business I can tell you that this “deal” is worth it.
Rather than clicking the Sampler link, just click the View January Menu or View February Menu links. This will take you to the actual menus, but not require you to login.

Do I have to buy all 6 meals at one time or can I buy 1 at a time?
Thanks
I have been doing dream dinners for about a year now, not at this location, but another one, and I just wanted to say that the meals are really good, easy, fast, and for the most part, very healthy. Since you prepare your own meals you can customize it with more of less of an ingredient and they are very easy to prepare. Yes it can be a pain to try and get them all in the freezer but mine isnt’ very big either and we manage to fit in all 36 servings. You can also check out the nutrition facts on the website before you order in case you are curious. Just thought I would put in my two cents!
Dream dinners have been just that. A dream! Fabulous, helpful, friendly staff, delicious dinners on my table with little effort. Preparation is so easy that I have had energy to devise ways to keep the family chatting at the table ( Tea, sliced apples and a game of cards anyone? ) We have tried many different meals and I have been surprised how many my very picky kids love. This is a fabulous bargin!
I, too, can’t view the sampler menus, which are usually intended for first-time customers and therefore apparently aren’t displayed to existing customers such as myself. But from what Barbara listed for January, it’s a large subset of their entire menu for each month, excluding only the higher-priced items. So it’s a great deal. I’ve been a DD customer for a couple of years now and have been very pleased with their offerings.
for the san jose location, go to this site…
and click on the “Menu Sampler” button on either January or February’s section.

I was wondering if these meals will be already prepared to pick up or will I have to come in and prepare them myself? I’m not a good cook.
Nicole-You will have the option of assembling them yourself or having them assembled for you. It is a lot of fun and very easy to assemble them yourself even for people who do not cook very often. But you can choose which option best fits your needs.
I’ve done business with this Dream Dinners location before and i really liked it. It’s clean and the employees are very helpful. The food is good too, and very convenient. It’s nice to just be able to pull one out of the fridge when I get home from work. I really recommend them if you haven’t tried Dream Dinners yet.

Hello ?
Ed H – I think people might not have responded because your question was already asked and answered :)
“Do you have to buy all 18 servings (i.e. six dinners) at once? My freezer is not terribly big”

Do the sampler meals all come with sides – such as rice and noodles?

Lynne, thanks for the help, your great!
Nicole, Some of the dinners come with sides like the Pub Style Chicken with Mashed Potatoes and the Ranch House Chicken and Potatoes and the Hawaiian Chicken with Jasmine Rice. We do sell a variety of sides in the store also.
limited to one per person. If I purchase one and get one as a gift, can I use mine for January and the gift for February?
Can the items be delivered for a small fee within the bay area (palo alto / mtn view area). I don’t want to make a trip to San Jose for this?
Dear Dream D
I was reading one of your answers and am a little confused still…
The menu sampler price of $75 is meant to be an introductory special that has some savings built into it for first time guests to try the dinners. The $110 value is an average cost of 18 servings when you look at the pricing on the main menu.
So is the Groupon really for $75, since you can only order off the sampler menu and not the regular menu, or are you able to order off of the regular menu???

Hi Barbara K-
You can use a Groupon whenever you like within the time frame before it expires. The gift you give can be redeemed by the recipient anytime within the time frame before expiration as well. I just want to clarify, that you cannot redeem your gift Groupon yourself as gifts can only be purchased to give to others to share the Groupon love!
Enjoy!
Lauren from Groupon
Barbara K.-The offer is designed as a one per person deal. So you can buy one for yourself and if you would like to give one as a gift to someone that is great too.
Ratna V.-Please call the store to discuss this further 408-293-3113.
Facebook User-The offer is for the sampler menu, you can choose any six dinners off the sampler menu for this offer.
Please let me know if I can use this coupon for a different location, I recently moved out of San Jose and I live nearest to the Benica location, please let me know.
Thanks.
=))

At least someone helped me out. Just wanted to make sure.
Thanks

Lea D.-
This Groupon is only redeemable at the Market Center location. In the future, you can find this information under the “Fine Print”, in the editorial write-up or under “The Company” where the address is listed!
Lauren from Groupon
Bummer on the Sampler Menu only, since I had my eye (or stomach) on the ribs and cod. But still for the price, this is a pretty good deal. Less than $3 per serving.
I ordered from this Dream Dinners location when they first opened up, it was fun putting together the package of food with a friend (everything is practically done for you anyways). But I think for most of the time, having them prepacked is way more convenient. The whole point is saving us time and energy, right?
So, the answer to my question is: Yes, the value of the Groupon coupon is $45 for a $75 food deal. Not the $110 advertised on the grouopon page.

Hi Colin,
The value is $110 worth of food. The $75 is a special offer for new customers only that could be looked at as $75 for $110 worth of food. So in this case, Dream Dinners is offering a one time offer of $45 for $110 worth of food for new and existing customers. Regardless of the offer, the value of the food is valued at $110. Does that help clarify?
Lauren,
My question is I have a Groupon I bought and I have one that was given to me by a fried as a gift. Since it states “one per person”, can I use both of them, the one I bought and the one given to me as a gift?
I cannot believe how some people try to work around the offer. Thank you Dream Dinners for making the offer available to all. Hope it is not more aggravation than value for you!!! I’ve been using DD for over a year and love the convenience. Your offer to introduce DD to people who might not know about it is terrific and I encourage anyone to do so. The offer is a bonus for those of us who already use the service.
Goupon says “Call . . 24 hours in advance to schedule pickup, mention your Groupon.” Do you need to call or can you schedule a session via the website? Since it says to “schedule pickup” do you have the assembly option?
Are Vegetarian options available at this location on the sampler menu?
Charlotte-You definitely have the option to either assemble the dinners yourself or have us assemble them for you. In either case you should call the store to place your order as we do not have a way to process the groupon coupons when you place your order on-line. So just call the store at 408-293-3113 to set up a time that works for you.
Also, we do have vegetarian options, we have a soy gluten meat substitute that can be used in place of the meat in some dinners. When you call we can discuss those options with you also.

Hi Barbara K.
As Barbara from Dream Dinners stated, this offer is meant as one per individual. I understand there is a possibility that you may have been gifted one of these as well, so here are your options:
1. you could sell your Groupon to a friend who didn’t already buy a Groupon
2. you could join in the gift giving spirt and pass it along to a friend who didn’t already receive a Groupon
3. you can email support@groupon.com and they can refund you for the Groupon you purchased for yourself so that you can use the Groupon that was given to you as a gift!
Hope this helps Barbara,
Lauren from Groupon
Susan S.-Thank you…I love to hear that Dream Dinners is making your life easier.
Barbara and Co. are great! I’ve been going to DD since this location opened and love the food and people. I highly recommend it!
Lisa-Thank you so much…you really have been with us since the start…even before the start! We have appreciated you staying with us!
This is so wonderful! I’ve been wanting to use DD since they opened and look forward to taking advantage of this deal. Thankfully someone asked the vegetarian question as my husband is one. (thought I’d be eating chicken in the closet for a few weeks)
Love the convenience of having the option to pick up prepared meals too! With a one year old, prepping to cook is challenging.
Thank you.

I wanted to use the Groupon today for a few folks we are having over. I’m pretty disappointed to find out NOW that I have to purchase 18 dinners at one time. With all of our busy schedules, the original advertisement should have been made MUCH more clear. I hope I have that big a party one day this year and like the options that month. I’d prefer, if possible, to get a refund on my unused Groupon. Thanks.
Hi Scott
With your groupon certificate you will get 6 dinners that each serve 3 people for a total of 18 servings. They are all designed to be put in your freezer and cooked as you need them. When you take your dinners home, you can put one or two (what ever you will use in the first two or three days) in your refrigerator and the rest can go in your freezer. If you don’t have room in your freezer to store 6 dinners call the store and we can make arrangements that fit your needs.
We got the meals last month and are almost done with enjoying the food. All dishes other than Pub Style Chicken were very good. We had an excellent experience at the Coleman Ave location in San Jose. If only they had a mid-Peninsula location.
I just created a new user account (since that’s the only way to see the Sampler menus) and found these offerings for April:
Mandarin Chicken
Down Home Pork Chops
Chicken Tortilla Bake
Greek Chicken
Coconut Chicken
Chicken Yakitori
Stuffed French Bread
Arroz con Pollo
You can see the full descriptions here:
http://dreamdinners.com/main.php?page=ms_previewcurrentmenu
(Note that that page will change from month to month.)

The deal is $45 for six fully prepped meals, and each meal is 3 servings. That’s a total of 18 servings. Their website states that the minimum order is 36 servings. Do we have to pony up extra cash to pay for the remaining 18 servings required or will they make a special exception for the use of this groupon?
Also, there is nothing listed as the “sampler menu” on their site. Anyone figured out exactly what that is? I just wanna know what I’m buying! :)
Thanks!!
