Yeah, you’re better off buying an annual pass to one of the larger museums in Boston that is part of the ATEC or ACM networks. For example, http://www.bostonkids.org/membership/categories.html – If you buy a family pass to the Children’s Museum in Boston, you get access to the Ecotarium anyway.

Not a bad place or deal with the right age children, I would say 4-8 range my kids liked it the most.
As far as the ATEC program museums the best way is to get a membership at an associated museum that is not close to home, as they all blacklist any participating museums in a 90 mile radius. So if you bought the Boston Children Museum one you could not go to the Boston Museum of Science. The ecotarium is a specially approved exception. However if you buy a family membership the Bangor Maine Childrens Museum you get to go to all the Boston ones.
The EcoTarium is most popular with families who have children under the age of 10, although many older kids also enjoy the live animals, the digital planetarium and (in the summer) the Tree Canopy Walkway.
Most of the museum’s offerings— from special exhibits to daily activities— are geared towards that family audience.

to others that don’t know. Every fist full week-end of the month if you have a BOA card you can go in for Free.
