Boot camp classes run Monday–Friday at 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Saturdays at 10:15 a.m., with additional sessions added as necessary to accommodate an influx of Groupon customers.

Trainer Mark Stainthorpe helms Elkins Park Boot Camp, shepherding patrons through intensive indoor and outdoor workouts designed to boost metabolism and tone musculature for slimmer, more chiseled edifices. Each 60-minute body-bolstering session combines both cardio and strength training, using TRX suspension, workout ropes, sand bags, kettlebells, spin bikes, and agility poles to draw together the primal movement patterns—such as squats, crunches, lunges, and gait-enhancing strides—that hark back to when humans were amoebic ninjas splashing in primordial soup. Slam balls and work-out sleds help attendees to further perfect physiques. Groupon holders will also receive complimentary nutrition planning, before-and-after photos, and before-and-after body-composition analysis with Tanita’s SC-331S, which measures health indicators such as body-fat percentage and metabolic age.

Campers who attend sessions three to five days a week torch calories, oust body fat, and usher in lean, toned muscle. Expert fitness gurus encourage clients to work at their own pace, allowing even the most out-of-shape or octagon-shaped person to break a sweat without feeling the heat of competition.
