Choose from Three Options

  • $49 for a three-hour Photography Fundamentals workshop (a $150 value)
  • $49 for a Night Photography workshop (a $150 value)
  • $89 for both Photography Fundamentals and Night Photography workshops (a $300 value)

During the fast-paced, hands-on fundamentals workshop, students learn and practice up to 100 photographic techniques, such as controlling exposure, focus, aperture, and shutter speed, leading participants to take their cameras to the next level and leave automatic mode behind. They may also learn how to use artificial and natural light and how to select the proper lens for snapping portraits, in-motion shots, or family portraits in bad Christmas sweaters. Participants explore their artistic side as they learn how to frame compositions and blur backgrounds for dramatic effect. They should bring their own digital camera for a hands-on experience or have the ability to rent one.

Alternatively, students learn about snapping sunsets, silhouettes, and dusk-lit images during the Night Photography workshop. At the end of the workshop, students will have some great postcard photos of San Francisco and the skill and knowledge to create amazing images anywhere - anytime.

Eric Gould Photography

Having shot more than 30,000 subjects throughout his career as a photographer, including many Silicon Valley business figures, Eric Gould understands how to create a good photo in any setting. His adeptness at communicating with subjects carries into his photography workshops, where he conveys difficult concepts clearly and methodically, saving students from such rookie mistakes as shooting with the lens cap on or turning the flash on while taking pictures of your imaginary friend's third grade graduation. In his own photo sessions, he frames professional clients in business portraits and headshots, high-school seniors in youthful poses, athletes in midaction, and a wide spectrum of people and places encountered on international travels.

“Hi - I just want to take this time on behalf of me and my wife to thank Eric Gould for his time. It was our first time doing a photography workshop and the experience we had with Eric definitely motivated us to look into this more. My wife and I are both new to photography and Eric was very knowledgeable about our cameras, patient with giving us pointers and just an overall nice guy. Also, the photos came out really nice and my wife and I are so proud to show them off to friends and family!”
