Estrella Negra

Estrella Negra's staff stages their twisty takes on traditional Mexican dishes atop glossy, hand-painted tables, all set against a backdrop of original art inspired by or imported from the cuisine's home country. Wheat and spinach tortillas enfold crisp veggies and sizzling proteins for both carnivores and herbivores, doused with house-made salsa and just-made guacamole. Freshly swirled smoothies, scoops of pistachio or mango-bit ice cream, and beverages brought from home cool down tongues hot from spicy tamales and empanadas. Diners are welcome to BYOB, and vegetarian visitors will find a wide variety of meatless dishes to savor. Throughout the vibrantly colored dining room, Day of the Dead skeletons peer over tables and cling to walls, plotting to swoop down and snatch tortilla chips when patrons aren't looking.

Reviews

Service way above average. Hip Mexican food with modern twist. The kind of place you have to bring your friends back to.

Angela R.. Yelp, 2/4/13

The atmosphere is relaxed and the service was friendly without the hipster attitude.
