Choose Between Two Options

  • $29 for a $70 value knife package, including $30 worth of knife sharpening plus a $40 value Wusthof hand sharpener and bar board
  • $39 for a $90 value knife package, including $50 worth of knife sharpening plus a $40 value Wusthof hand sharpener and bar board

Sharpening fees vary depending on the length of the blade and the amount of Elvish magic protecting it, but most range from $4–$10. Most seven-piece block sets cost about $30 to sharpen and include one chef knife, one paring knife, one bread knife, one pair of kitchen shears, one sandwich knife, one utility knife, and one santoku knife. An 18-piece block sets cost about $50 and includes the above knifes in addition to a serrated utility knife, a peeler, a small chef knife and eight steak knives.

Made in Germany, the dual-edged Wusthof hand sharpener restores blades to factory condition. Its coarse carbide side improves sharpness while a ceramic side hones the edge. Preset angle setting and an ergonomic soft-grip handle make the tool easy to use. A companion 6"x8" cutting board, meanwhile, absorbs the swishes and chops of sharpened blades, corralling vegetables and herbs slated for meals.

Although most chefs have their own unique style of peeling, dicing, and julienning veggies, they all have one thing in common: they each require precise, sharp knives. At Excalibur Cutlery and Gifts, the staff ensures that tools remain as close to their factory condition as possible. During sharpening services, a water-cooled belt system and buffing wheels restore a piercing blade while removing a minimal amount of steel. They can sharpen kitchen, pocket, and hunting knives, as well as dull scissors and razors.

The shop also stocks premium models of nearly every edge they sharpen. The cutlery department stocks German-made Wusthof and Henckels, Swiss-made Forschner, and Oregon-grown Kershaw knives. Ideal for camping trips, pocket knives come in both blade and multitool varieties. More genteel wares include manicure sets and old-fashioned shaving kits. Excalibur also boasts a collection of swords for the collector or CEO whose business suit needs extra panache.
