Breaking a sweat not only cools you down during exercise but also rids your body of the disgusting water that's just building up inside you. Sweat it out with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $35 for 10 muay thai, MMA, or Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes (a $250 value)
  • $39 for one month of kids’ classes for students aged 5–13 (an $85 value)

Instructors teach adults and kids age-level appropriate techniques from muay thai, also known as “the science of eight limbs” for its onslaught of punches, kicks, knee strikes, and elbow strikes. Complementing the hard arts of muay thai, Brazilian jiu-jitsu classes focus on the softer arts of takedowns, joint locks, and chokeholds that use your opponent's momentum and bodyweight against them. Fairtex Muay Thai Fitness

Fairtex was founded as a Thailand-based clothing company in 1958, but owner Phillip Wong was not satisfied to just peddle fashion trends. On the side, he started a muay thai camp in Bangkok to indulge his passion for the sport. The camp flourished and became one of the first Thai camps to train European, American, and Japanese students. As Mr. Wong noticed the poor muay thai training Americans were receiving in their home country, he set out to bring his brand of training to the United States. Fairtex Muay Thai Fitness now boasts eight training locations spread across Thailand, the United States, and Japan.

The Newark gym takes its design cues from its sister location in Mountain View, bearing high ceilings lit by skylights. Full-size 24-foot boxing rings and octagonal cages stand permanently ready for training alongside 7-foot heavy pole bags, which are designed to weather the repeated impacts of sharp knees, elbows, and tongue-lashings from the coaches for always losing fights. Varied mat spaces are designed to host specific benefits to both striking and grappling arts, empowering students to stitch together a complete MMA education as they train in both muay thai and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The trainers offer coed adult classes and kid-focused programs, which help charges develop self-discipline, scholastic achievement, and self-confidence.

KOA Fitness

Inside KOA Fitness's extensive martial arts gym, students toughen up minds and bodies alike through the focus-building drills of boxing, muay thai, Brazilian jiujitsu. There, full-size, 24-foot boxing rings and octagonal cages stand permanently ready for training alongside 7-foot heavy bags, which are designed to weather the repeated impacts of sharp knees, elbows, and tongue-lashings from the coaches for always losing fights. Varied mat spaces are designed to host specific benefits to both striking and grappling arts, empowering students to stitch together a complete MMA education as they train. The trainers offer coed adult classes and kid-focused programs, which help charges develop self-discipline, scholastic achievement, and self-confidence. They even use their talents in noncombat disciplines, hosting strength and conditioning sessions that keep bodies ready for athletic activity of all sorts.

The Groupon Guide to: Body Language

Thanks to body language, you don't have to hear someone's hot, breathy voice in order to learn how they're feeling. Know what's on everyone's mind just by looking at them with this guide to nonverbal communication:

Position: Head hanging down
Meaning: Shame about having lost a basketball game or never having learned to properly diaper a baby

Position: Arms crossed
Meaning: Self-conscious about something that looks like nozzles on otherwise normal chest

Position: Chin up
Meaning: Humiliated to look down at the hands that have touched so many strangers' hair

Position: Legs crossed
Meaning: Desperately trying to control the powerful leg muscles that so desperately want to kick down a door, just once, to see how it feels

Position: Balled up, quivering, screaming at the slightest hint of noise or light
Meaning: In a fit of joyful awe at all of the wonderful things the world has to offer

How many adults will never learn to properly diaper a baby?
