$1,895 for LASIK Surgery for Both Eyes ($5,000 Value)

Dr. Gregg Feinerman first examines the patient to ensure that they are a candidate for LASIK, then reshapes imperfect corneas using a Zyoptix laser. Recovery is usually quick after the 15-minute procedure. Most patients notice improved vision right away, and teary-eyed side effects typically go away after 3–4 hours. Patients may upgrade to a bladeless laser for an additional $1,000, which can allow some patients, such as those whose corneas are too thin for a traditional laser, to qualify for the procedure.

Feinerman Vision Center

For those wondering whether or not they need vision-correction surgery, the staff at Feinerman Vision Center has developed an online quiz as the first step in a comprehensive consultation process. After answering a series of questions—such as “Would your career activities improve if you were to be less dependent on glasses?” and “Are you sure your glasses wouldn’t be jealous?”—prospective patients are told what vision-correction techniques might be best for them.

Of course, no surgery takes place until board-certified surgeon Dr. Gregg Feinerman confirms the quiz’s notions during a follow-up consultation. Dr. Feinerman specializes in both LASIK and cataract surgery. He uses high-tech equipment to sharpen eyesight, including a blade-free LASIK procedure that relies solely on lasers to reshape the cornea. During Crystalens surgery, a different type of vision-correcting treatment, he replaces the eye’s natural lens with a new, flexible one. Many of his treatment methods, which also include custom cataract surgery, take about 15 minutes to complete and incur little downtime.

The Groupon Guide to: Barbershop Chatter

The barbershop has gained a reputation for being the place to go for listening to all sorts of lively chatter. Here's a sampling of what you might hear your barber say next time you get a haircut:

  • "Take 2 inches off the top? Yep, that's something I can do when these casts come off."

  • "I've been thinking about labeling the scissor jar 'Scissors' and the comb jar 'Not Scissors.' Thoughts?"

  • "Ha! No, this isn't the kind of barbershop that sweeps up the hair clippings."

  • "Someone stole all of our magazines, but you can read this letter I've been meaning to send to my estranged wife."

  • "Welcome to the barbershop, where men are kings and kings are giants and giants are half off before noon."

Why are barbershops called "listen holes"?
