Many people are intimidated by wine's subtle flavors and endless varieties, but did you know that it's actually just juice made from vodka-infused grapes? Learn other things my cousin told me about with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $20 for a winemaking class and tasting for one (a $40 value)
  • $40 for a winemaking class and tasting for two (an $80 value)

During the first 30 minutes of class, students taste six wines, three white and three red, as teachers impart tasting wisdom and teach students how to analyze tastes and smells that students notate on an included tasting sheet. The next 30 minutes are spent discussing wine kits. Instructors describe the equipment required to make a wine kit before mixing one in front of the class. They’ll also talk about bottling and racking using visual aids and address common winemaking problems. Classes conclude with 30 minutes dedicated to a discussion of how to make wine from grapes and a general Q&A session. For a list of dates, please refer to the event schedule.

FH Steinbart Co.

Named Best Homebrew Store by Northwest Brewing News readers five times, FH Steinbart Co. has been outfitting aspiring homebrewers since 1918. A hops-hardened staff runs the oldest homebrew supply store in the country, connecting amateurs and experts with the raw ingredients and equipment to make smooth elixirs. Starter kits can spark a first attempt at fermentation, and resident draft experts can also help transform your fridge into a kegerator. FH Steinbart's extensive brewing classes teach students how ingredients affect the final product and let them witness the rare mating dance between hops and yeast as well as the stumbling walk of shame that follows.
