For the Firefly Run, racers meet at The Campus at Legacy on Saturday, March 23. They pick up their race packets from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. before lining up at the starting line at 8:15 p.m. Along with registration, each competitor receives a themed T-shirt, two Firefly Run LED lights, a glow-in-the-dark participant bracelet, and admission to the postrace dance party.

Firefly Run 5K

The Firefly Run combines the thrill of a 5K and 10K race with the glowing, kaleidoscopic colors of a light show. LED beams, music, and lasers pierce the dark to guide racers through nighttime streets and parks. The racers themselves are suited up in costumes that include glow sticks, cartoonish helmets, light-up armbands, and other light-themed decorations to make them shimmer in the night like fireflies. Beyond the finish line, runners and spectators alike celebrate at a post-race dance party featuring live entertainment, visual effects, and a costume contest that rewards unique outfits and the athlete who was able to ward off the most light-attracted moths.
