  • $40 for two 60-minute horseback-riding lessons (a $100 value)
  • $78 for four 60-minute horseback-riding lessons (a $200 value)
  • $115 for six 60-minute horseback-riding lessons (a $300 value)

Introductory lessons commence with an evaluation of the student’s established horsemanship and leadership skills. Student and teacher then formulate a custom lesson plan aimed at achieving horsemanship goals, such as learning how to communicate with a horse through body language. The student receives coaching both on the ground and in the saddle.

Five Horses, LLC

Shannon Birkelbach and her trusty staff at Five Horses, LLC are disciples of natural horsemanship, an equitation method that stresses interspecies relationships and self-improvement. Certified through the Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association and OK Corral, the team also specializes in two therapy services: equine-assisted psychotherapy (EAP) and equine-assisted learning (EAL) (not included in this Groupon.) EAP relies on horse-based activities and trained therapists to help people improve their relationships in all facets of life by using horses’ natural abilities as truth tellers. EAL, on the other hand, is a learning-focused approach relying on horses’ natural abilities and trained therapists to solve quadratic equations. Unlike many other equine facilities that simply offer rides, Five Horses focuses on the ongoing therapeutic effects these animals have on their human counterparts.
