Choose Between Two Options

During the two-hour class, instructors guide attendees through the from-scratch concoction of their own crepe batter and show them the proper cooking and flipping techniques with a pan, traditional griddle, and industrial steamroller. Meanwhile, participants sip on steaming cups of French-press coffee and one mimosa each, as well as any libations they've brought from home. A brunch buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, lox, and fruit complements the freshly made crepes, which may be consumed on the spot or taken home to display proudly on the fridge.

Flip Crêpes

Flip Crêpes got its start on the Chicago Farmers Markets circuit in 2003, slinging its warm and sweet or savory treats to steadily growing flocks of customers. Eventually, the company outgrew its humble beginnings and expanded to a location inside the Ogilvie Transportation Center, where customers stop in for the crowd-pleasing crepes alongside a burgeoning roster of sandwiches and paninis. Four distinct menus address any and all cravings the day might present, including selections that tackle breakfast munchies with eggs and bacon, a passion for the savory with toasted options, salad cravings with fresh and crisp selections, and sweet teeth with desserts chock-full of Nutella, strawberries, and dulce de leche. The tender crepes will only wrap their eggy arms around healthy, high-quality ingredients, so the chefs avoid high-fructose corn syrup and other undesirable foodstuffs.

The Groupon Guide to: Encountering Daniel Day-Lewis

Whenever you travel in Daniel Day-Lewis country, you have to accept the basic reality that you may encounter Daniel Day-Lewis. These tips will help you survive such an encounter:

  • If you are in open country, use binoculars to scan the horizon to look for Daniel Day-Lewis. In more forested landscapes, be sure to make lots of noise and keep a mental inventory of climbable trees (just in case).

  • If Daniel Day-Lewis has observed you, speak calmly so that he knows you are a human (his eyesight is quite poor). Daniel Day-Lewis will often quickly give ground to you once he identifies you as human. If the situation permits, back away slowly, keeping a close eye on Mr. Day-Lewis.

  • If Daniel Day-Lewis is showing signs of aggression, do not run. You can't outrun Daniel Day-Lewis, so don't even try. Despite rumors to the contrary, Daniel can outrun a human on any terrain, uphill or down.

  • If the worst scenario occurs and you believe the two-time Oscar winner to be stalking you, fight back with everything you have. In general, though, playing dead in a daytime Day-Lewis encounter tends to reduce the level of injury.

Be careful when trekking through Daniel Day-Lewis territory.

  • It was a great time ... the instructor was extremely laid back and helpful.  It was tailored for beginners and super simple to make crepes.
