Choose Between Two Options

  • $45 for a fondue-making class for one (a $99.99 value)
  • $59 for a fondue-making class for two (a $139.99 value)

During the two-hour class, instructors guide attendees through the from-scratch concoction of their own cheese fondue. Once fondues are blended and steaming, students select bread and veggies from a provided spread of dippables and enjoy their cheesy creations. A miniature chocolate fondue with fruit also is provided. Guests are free to bring alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverages along with other morsels to dip in their fondue.

Flip Crêpes

Flip Crêpes got its start on the Chicago Farmers Markets circuit in 2003, slinging its warm and sweet or savory treats to steadily growing flocks of customers. Eventually, the company outgrew its humble beginnings and expanded to a location inside the Ogilvie Transportation Center, where customers stop in for the crowd-pleasing crepes alongside a burgeoning roster of sandwiches and paninis. Four distinct menus address any and all cravings the day might present, including selections that tackle breakfast munchies with eggs and bacon, a passion for the savory with toasted options, salad cravings with fresh and crisp selections, and sweet teeth with desserts chock-full of Nutella, strawberries, and dulce de leche. The tender crepes will only wrap their eggy arms around healthy, high-quality ingredients, so the chefs avoid high-fructose corn syrup and other undesirable foodstuffs.

The Groupon Guide to: Types of Potatoes

When making your first foray into advanced potato dishes, you may be asked by your cookbook to use a specific kind of potato because of its unique color, texture or starchiness. Parse your tubers with this helpful potato guide:

Russet Potatoes
* Shape: Potato-shaped
* Skin, Flesh: Traditional “potato brown” skin that peels semifreely from a dry flesh that ranges from white to yellow
* Best Uses: Blanched to tenderness before being chucked at parked cars as a goof

French Fingerling
* Shape: Potato-shaped (smaller)
* Skin, Flesh: Waxy pink skins conceal yellow flesh
* Best Uses: Ironically, these “French” potatoes cannot be french-fried as they immediately dissolve if exposed to any manner of liquid and are therefore primarily fed raw to horses or chucked at parked cars for a laugh

Bananas
* Shape: Hilarious
* Skin, Flesh: Sturdy yellow rind protecting soft white flesh
* Best Uses: Cut up in a bowl of cereal, blend into a smoothie to add a creamy texture and mild flavor, or chuck at parked cars on a lark

Which potato is the best for throwing at cars?
