During the tandem jump, United State Parachute Association–certified instructors harness themselves to skydivers and coach them as they plunge from a DHC-6 Twin Otter or Cessna at up to 13,500 feet above the Earth's surface. Forty seconds of free fall accelerate divers to 120 mph before instructors open the parachute. The canopy then carries its passengers on a scenic, six-minute descent back to the ground. Each diver's elevated adventure also includes ground training and a T-shirt commemorating their battle with gravity.

Encompassing three landing areas and nestled amid 250 acres of open terrain, Florida Skydiving Center forms a stage where advanced skydivers compete in national competitions and beginners gain their wings under the guidance of United States Parachute Association–certified instructors. The experienced teachers can take newbies on tandem jumps. For dedicated pupils, the instructors lead accelerated free-fall training, which imparts the skills needed to take solo dives. Florida Skydiving Center's owners maintain a facility where teams strategize and solo divers can pair up for jumps.
