On Sunday, April 13, 2014, participants gather at Oleta River State Park starting at 9 a.m. before taking off on the approximately 8-mile Florida Super Spartan Race. Waves of 200 racers depart every 15 minutes thereafter. Participants will be challenged with a number of obstacles, which might include climbing walls and ropes, barbed wire, or mud. All racers receive a finisher's medal and a T-shirt. Though the race takes place at Oleta River State Park, all participants must check in at Florida International University, where there will be complimentary parking and a $5 shuttle to take them to the course.
Florida Super Spartan Race
Seven extreme athletes and one Royal Marine banded together to design Florida Super Spartan Race's intense course, an approximately 8-mile trek bolstered by more than 20 obstacles that test resilience, stamina, and strength. Clad in event T-shirts, runners are smeared in smudges and stains as they slide unscathed under barbed wire and juke feral linebackers. Upon crossing the finish line, victors are awarded a participation medal, and the top three male and female runners each qualify for free entry to the next race-level up. Combatants can refuel with warm, savory food (available for purchase) as a DJ spins catchy tunes. Participants 21 and over will receive one free beer to celebrate their race completion.
