A combat-conditioning specialist certified through the Marine Corps leads groups of up to 15 people through a 35- to 45-minute workout based on military training principles. The exercises, which can be modified for any fitness level, include pushups, burpees, and crunches and often rely on dumbbells, TRX straps, and medicine balls. See the class schedule.

Forge Wellness

Colton Current guides people of all skill levels through highly varied,workouts at Forge Wellness. During the classes, whose small size combines the intimacy of personal training with the motivational support of group sessions, students use their own body weight and equipment such as medicine balls, TRX straps, and dumbbells, and earn bracelets while learning the Keystone Movements—the basis of a system designed to develop areas such as endurance and strength. Current spends the five-minute warm-ups and cooldowns that bookend each class sharing nutritional and stress-management advice, discussing topics such as portion control or why scheduling black-belt testing on your wedding day is a bad idea. A food-sampling day is also held once each month to complement to nutritional discussion.
