Does the Patron level “skip the line” benefit apply to guests as well?

Jesika J.

Jesika from the Foundation for the National Archives here!

Yes, it gets your “party” in, wether that be you alone, or you and your small group.

Hope that helps!

Gerylee B.

It does, thank you!

LMO .

Is it possible to see a list of the specific presidential libraries and museums to which one gets complimentary admission?

Jesika J.

@LMO-There is a link to a list of the Presidential Libraries and Museums on the National Archives website: http://www.archives.gov/presidential-libraries/visit/.

LMO .

Thank you. That makes sense now. I assumed “museums” meant various museums around the country (i.e., the Museum of Modern Art), not specifically the “Presidential” museums associated with the Presidential Libraries.

So once I activate this deal (must be activated by 13 December) then it’ll be valid for a year?

Jesika J.

Yes, the memberships go through the end of the month one year from the month of activation. So, if you activate it on September 23, 2010, your membership will expire on September 30, 2011.

Help! I hate to rain on a classy offer like this, but I am losing faith in Groupon.

My recent experience is that Groupon doesn’t deliver on their promises to “gladly refund you for your purchase” or “we are committed to making it up to you” when a Groupon vendor doesn’t deliver.

Take a look at my recent email exchange with Nate Sherman of your support staff. He promised to have a supervisor call me several days ago. Still hasn’t happened. And when I call Groupon’s customer support number, I get unceremoniously disconnected without warning after several minutes of waiting and being told my call will be handled in the order received.

Can I get a call from a groupon supervisor to resolve my issue?

Jesika J.

I can’t speak to this as I am not a Groupon employee but a vendor (I work for the National Archives) but I can promise we will come through with our offer!

Can you tell me more about the “special tours?” What are they like?

Lori A.

Thanks for the answer to my previous question. I also wonder whether we can normally bring a guest to the members-only tours.

Shannon M.

Does “skip the line” benefit only apply to the initial entrance to the building (i.e. using the special events entrance vs. visitors entrance)? Does this benefit allow you to skip the never-ending line to the rotunda or are you still stuck waiting there?

Jesika J.

The members only tours and events are special invitations to receptions before public events, special notice of programs, and member open house tours. You can bring a guest to the events with an RSVP in advance.

The “skip the line” benefit does only apply to the outside main entrance line, once inside the building you get the discount at the gift shop, but still have to wait in line for the Rotunda. But, if you attend one of our special events you are likely to get a tour of the Rotunda when the building is closed to the public!

If I want to give the deal as a gift, can I activate it for that person? They don’t live in the area but come to visit frequently and love the Archives but I doubt they will be in town before this Groupon expires to activate it themselves. Thanks!

Jesika J.

Kathleen,
Sorry we didn’t get a response in sooner! Email me at the Foundation at: jesika.jennings@nara.gov and we can discuss.
Thanks!
Jesika

Lori A.

How long is the response supposed to take when you send the email to activate it? I sent an email over a week ago.
