Learning something new requires clearing space in your head, which is best accomplished by sneezing out brain cells until you can't remember cursive. Make room for new skills with this Groupon.

Choose Between Two Options

  • $59 for a four-hour photography class for one person (a $345 value)
  • $109 for a four-hour photography class for two people (a $690 value)

During the four-hour hands-on class, students gain basic camera-operating knowledge about f-stops, shutter speeds, ISO, white balance, exposure, and other shooting elements using the camera's manual modes. Throughout the experience, students apply what they've learned outside in downtown Lee's Summit. Instructor Mike Freeland guides students and answers questions along with other professional photographers, depending on the class size. Though cameras may be available for use, bringing your own DSLR is preferable. Students should read their entire camera manual before class, bring a notebook or recording device, and arrive at least 20 minutes early. To see available class dates and times, see the drop-down menu here. If you have a group of 10 or more people, a class time will be scheduled for you specifically.

Freeland Photography

Founder and professional shutterbug Mike Freeland calls on more than two decades of photographic experience and camera-handling in shoots ranging from staged portraiture to mostly improvised weddings. Joined by a team of 10 other photo pros, Freeland Photography captures moments during special events, documents images for commercial businesses, and invites families into the studio to strike poses before being frozen in carbonite. You can view their studio's portrait guide here.
