Choose Between Two Options

During classes, students learn how to use milk or chalk paint—or a variety of stains, oils, and paints—to update and upgrade old furniture, cabinets, and drawers with classic french, distressed rustic country, and shabby-chic looks. Alternatively, the private class provides one-on-one time with the instructor to learn finishing techniques for a chosen piece. For the introduction sampler class, all supplies are included and students will leave with colour samples and the skills to create their own pieces at home. For the private furniture workshop, students are provided space, tools, 1 paint color and 1 top coat. Additional paint and finishes available for purchase.
Frosty by Design
Michelle Frost, a furnishing designer, has a way of making objects appear unrecognizable. At Frosty by Design, she does this with her line of Candian-made furniture paints, which are a water-based, low- to no-VOC formula with a vintage look that's easy to distress or leave clean and modern. The paint requires little to no prep, making it ideal for refinishing furniture, updating cabinets, or transforming old Barbies into miniature recreations of Renaissance sculptures. In addition to rehabbing old tables, bureaus, and chairs—which she sells at her shop—Frost leads workshops to teach visitors methods for mixing and applying colours, as well as tricks of the trade.
