“Keep Calm and Carry On” Canvas Gallery Wrap

At the start of World War II, the British government ordered the Ministry of Information to prepare morale-boosting propaganda to post around the country. Among the dignified designs was a last-resort model, to be brought out only in the event of a German invasion. The simple message, "Keep Calm and Carry On," was printed in crisp capital letters beneath the reassuringly strong lines of King George VI’s crown. Fortunately, the MOI never needed to dispatch the posters, and most were destroyed following the war.

Nearly 60 years later, the owners of a bookshop unearthed a surviving copy hidden among dusty books and boxes, presumably waiting out the Cold War. Today, the iconic poster appears in design magazines and blogs around the world. This crisp, 24”x36” reproduction print retains the original message against a choice of eight bold background colors.
