Creating a meal from scratch is both challenging and delicious, much like playing "Stairway to Heaven" on a clarinet made out of a candy cane. Master meal melding with this Groupon.

$49 for a 12-Month Online Membership ($199.95 Value)

Members get 12 months to work through more than 200 video lessons led by Top Chef contestants, including Stephanie Izard and Spike Mendelsohn. The videos can be streamed to any computer with an internet connection and cover everything from soups to desserts.

Top Chef University

At a moment's notice, contestants from the Emmy-Award-winning show Top Chef appear in Top Chef University members' homes, ready to give one-on-one cooking lessons. Though users will meet stars such as Spike Mendelsohn and Stephanie Izard, they don't have to wipe down the counters or season their neglected cast-iron pans in preparation. That's because the school's 200 lessons are all online videos, streamable to any computer.

Top Chef contestants walk members through a slew of cooking methods in 12 one-month courses, each composed of videos ranging from 5–30 minutes long. The easy-to-follow curriculum starts with basic cooking techniques such as sautéing and braising, ending with more advanced recipes for modern and ethnic cuisines from Top Chef All-Stars winner Richard Blais. Each video comes with a printable recipe to save and cherish, along with a Top Chef Certificate of Completion.

The Groupon Guide to: Too Good to Be True

There's an old saying: if a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Look out for any of these impossible dreams; they might turn into all-too-possible nightmares:

A real-estate agent arrives on your doorstep with a "once-in-a-lifetime investment."
Nice try! This two-bit huckster wants you to spend your retirement fund on 6 acres of stink-swamp so he can move into your much nicer current house and pet your dog all day.

An old man with a beard says you are the newest applicant to a "prestigious wizard academy."
Steer clear! This old nut clearly wants money—or worse: for you to spend your precious time conversing with a lonely elderly person.

A beautiful, compassionate soul tells you they want to spend "the rest of our lives together."
Don't do it! If this person could see the secret darkness that you know is gestating inside you, they would turn to ashes at your touch. Say something hateful in return, in order to set them free.

How can you tell if someone is trying to trick you?
