Luxurious Playground Near the Las Vegas Strip

Fresh after its debut in 2000, The Palms Casino Resort immediately demolished six rooms at a cost of $2 million. In its place, they installed a 3,000-square-foot suite with a full bar, neon-lit washbasins, a pool table, and full kitchen, all in preparation for hosting the young and beautiful cast of MTV's The Real World. The renovation was an early indicator for the resort's ethos: enabling rock-star-style decadence and a plush, exclusive atmosphere at whatever the cost. Today, the massive campus now constantly buzzes with nightclubs, a giant, 24-hour casino, and pools with splashing waterfalls. The Fantasy suites indulge whims of the high life with lavish rooms such as the Barbie suite, decked out in flashy Malibu-style décor and a fireplace, and the original Real World suite itself (not included in this deal).

In the Superior guest room within the Fantasy Tower, overnighters can rest on all-white linens of the king-size bed or two queen-size beds, or melt into the private jacuzzi bath. Alternatively, guests can let others join them in the lap of luxury by hosting parties up to the room’s capacity (at no extra admission for party guests) within themed Fantasy suites such as the Barbie suite with hot pink décor and an extra-large jacuzzi tub, or the Erotic suite, which flaunts a windowed show shower and an 8-foot round rotating bed with mirrored ceilings. Bridging the gap between the resort's two spires are 2 acres of pools, decked out with a 12-foot waterfall and three poolside bars. To fuel up after a day of swimming, The Palms houses a variety of eateries, ranging from the casual, yet extensive breakfast spread in Bistro Buffet to Nove Italiano, an upscale establishment helmed by executive chef Geno Bernardo that specializes in Italian cuisine.

Las Vegas, On and Off the Strip: An Adult Playground with Funky Flair

The neon still flickers endlessly on the Vegas Strip, its expansive cluster of sky-scraping hotels, casinos, and concert halls all hawking a can't-miss spectacle. Another ocular spectacle, the 90-minute Cirque du Soleil LOVE sets the unbelievable acrobatics of Cirque's colorful aerialists against the timeless soundtrack of the Beatles.

For a respite from the frenetic Strip, the Lotus of Siam is an unassuming eatery where chef Saipin Chutima crafts authentic Thai fare. A vast array of fine wines wait in the wings on floor-to-ceiling racks, and the impressive collection helped earn the restaurant the Wine Spectator Best of Award of Excellence.
