Boutique Hotel with Views of the Atlantic and Fine-Dining Restaurant

Ashworth by the Sea Hotel has stood along Hampton's Ocean Boulevard for more than 100 years. Its retro sign—made up of slanting white letters set across a brick wall—is a distinctive feature along this oceanfront, which is regarded as one of New England's finest. Hotel guests are treated to wide-open views of Hampton Beach and the Atlantic Ocean from their guest rooms, as well as from a rooftop deck located directly underneath the sign.

The boutique hotel’s king sideview rooms have side views of the Atlantic Ocean. Elsewhere, you can find a heated indoor pool that sparkles under a roof made from hundreds of translucent-yellow glass panes.

Executive chef Stephen Harding presides over Breakers Restaurant and Bar, where he crafts signature dishes such as New England clam chowder and savory Maine-lobster mac 'n' cheese. In recent renovations, the restaurant has been outfitted with a stone fireplace, granite-topped bar, and wood flooring. On Friday and Saturday nights, Breakers transforms into a dance club with a DJ or live bands from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Ashworth by the Sea overlooks Hampton Beach, one of only four shorelines in the country named a “superstar beach” by the Natural Resources Defense Council. The award goes to those beaches deemed the safest in the United States thanks to a record of clean swimming water.

Head to the Hampton Historical Society & Tuck Museum, about 3 miles from the hotel, to learn more about the area’s history. About a 20-minute drive away is the city of Portsmouth, a historic seaport with a plethora of restaurants, museums, and shops.
