Though it began in the mid 1800s as a modest trading post for Spanish missionary monks, the Port of Los Angeles in San Pedro Bay has grown to become the United States’ largest port by container value. In addition to its commercial ships, it's home to the World Cruise Center, where more than a million travelers per year board ships heading for Hawaii, Mexico, and beyond. From many of the guest rooms at Best Western Plus San Pedro Hotel & Suites, you can watch freighters rolling into the harbor. If that’s not close enough, the hotel's complimentary cruise shuttle will take you right to the World Cruise terminal.
Guest rooms are spacious, contemporary, and comfortable, with pillow-top mattresses and plush bedding. Outside, there’s a small outdoor pool and Jacuzzi surrounded by high walls of green ivy.

Cabrillo Beach attracts swimmers, scuba divers, and windsurfers, who take to the waves as massive cargo ships pass in the background. Cabrillo essentially spans two beaches: one for surfing and a separate, more gentle area ideal for young swimmers.
Cabrillo Marine Aquarium: This Frank Gehry–designed facility houses a wide range of aquatic creatures, including black sea nettles, jellyfish, and sea lions.
