Stylish Boutique Hotel in London, Ontario's Downtown Entertainment District
Bright purple lights are cast on Hotel Metro at night, illuminating the building's red-brick art-deco façade. The glow helps distinguish the modern hotel from other buildings in downtown London, Ontario, where much of the architecture has a 19th-century vibe. Inside, vibrant abstract paintings are hung on exposed brick walls, and the second-floor atrium area features sleek surfaces and a stark, charcoal-and-white color scheme. Hotel Metro is positioned among many entertainment venues, including Budweiser Gardens, which will host a number of upcoming shows, including Reba McEntire (Oct. 26), the Dixie Chicks (Nov. 10), and Stomp (Jan. 11).
In posh Marvellous suites, arched windows overlook downtown London. Luxe Vera Wang bedding adds designer flair to the spaces, and in stylish bathrooms, guests can kick back and soak in the large tubs or test out new galoshes in the rainfall showers. Lofts are located on the top floor and feature exposed brick walls and lots of space. The hotel also offers spa treatments such as in-room massages.
Century-old hardwood floors and wood furnishings made locally from salvaged trees decorate Blu Duby, an upscale eatery located downstairs. Chefs here whip up tasty dishes such as house-made linguini and Atlantic salmon with miso and spinach.
