Boutique, Victorian-Style Inn with Gourmet Restaurant
Built in 1814, The Stowe Inn’s Victorian mansion brims with antique furnishings, including oriental rugs and a mahogany bar from the early 20th century. The wraparound porch gives guests an opportunity to look over all of Stowe, and you can warm up next to the crackling fireplace in the living room. More wood furnishings accent the 16 guest rooms, where you’ll also find Edwardian-style beds, while 22 rooms in the Country Lodge Building offer amenities such as country quilting.
Chefs at the onsite River House Restaurant use locally sourced ingredients to prepare an array of dishes, such as pecan crusted salmon over couscous and slow-roasted prime rib. One of this deal’s options includes a craft beer tasting for two at the bar, which has over 9 craft beers on tap. You’ll find several other dining options elsewhere in town, ranging from upscale seafood spots to craft breweries. There are a number of artisan shops and specialty stores nearby as well.
During ski season, guests can cross the street to catch the shuttle to Stowe Mountain Resort. The ski resort sprawls across two mountains, Spruce Peak and Mount Mansfield, providing plenty of trails and skiable terrain. Additional charges apply at Stowe Mountain Resort.
This getaway includes continental breakfast for two.
Stowe, Vermont: Quiet Village Flush with Outdoor Adventure
The quaint town of Stowe is nestled in the quiet countryside of northern Vermont. State law bans billboards, ensuring unobstructed views of the sugar maples and hemlock covering the Green Mountains along the roadways. Hiking opportunities abound on mountainside trails that range from steep vertical climbs to flat sprawls. Stop by a local sport shop to rent bikes or motorized mountain goats for exploring the Stowe Recreation Path, a paved 5.3-mile-long avenue that winds along the sparkling West Branch River and through Stowe’s main commercial strip. The strip is lined with independent shops and roadside diners and stands out for its lack of chain franchises. Like the sun’s light or a toddler’s interest in physics, the bustle of downtown evaporates by 10 p.m.
About 12 miles south, the town of Waterbury is home to a Ben & Jerry’s ice-cream factory. Visitors can watch as machinery zips the famous pints from one end of the facility to the other during a factory tour, which ends with a sampling of the flavor of the day.

About The Stowe Inn
Built in 1814, The Stowe Inn’s elegant Victorian mansion brims with rare antique furnishings, old-fashioned hospitality, and contemporary amenities. The bed and breakfast nods to its rich history with oriental rugs and a 35-foot mahogany bar from the early 20th century. More wood furnishings accent the 16 guest rooms, where guests can relax upon Edwardian-style beds or use wireless Internet to email their garage door back home.
During the winter, a crackling fireplace warms the inn's library, and an in-ground pool offers a place to cool down during summer. Chefs at the onsite River House Restaurant serve upscale and casual dishes forged from locally sourced ingredients, and inn staffers prep a sumptuous daily breakfast buffet.
The posh inn serves as a convenient outpost near outdoor recreation, artisan shops, and craft breweries throughout the quaint town of Stowe. In nearby Waterbury, Ben & Jerry’s factory tours bestow behind-the-scenes access to the popular ice cream's production. There, visitors find cows grazing onsite, graciously accommodating autograph requests from starstruck fans.
