The entire safari is done by safari vehicle over land. The driving distances are indicated in the descriptive itinerary and are as follows: Nairobi to Samburu: 8 hours Samburu to Lake Nakuru: 8 hours Lake Nakuru to Maasai Mara: 7 hours Maasai Mara to Nairobi: 5 1/2 hours These include lunch, rest and photo stops en route.

Is there an option to visit Ngorongoro Crater before starting this tour? If so, how much would that extension be? We would like to do the Amboseli extension, but could we possibly do that before the tour? We are interested in the late July date. Would you be able to do other dates a little earlier in July to end at the end of July? Sorry for so many questions. Trying to figure out if we can make these work with work schedules.

The optional extension to Amboseli is scheduled before the main safari with a departure from the US on July 24 for the July date. We could put a customized extension together to visit Ngorongoro Crater before Amboseli. Costs depend on the number of travelers, accommodation availability, etc. Please contact our office at 800-627-1244 for additional information.

Yes, it is possible to have a stop in Addis Ababa. There would be a slight increase in taxes and possibly in airfare. Please advise the dates you were looking at and we will check exact costs. (Need date from IAD to NBO, date from NBO to ADD and date from ADD to IAD.)
