Days 1–6: Nadi, Fiji
The nation of Fiji is comprised of 333 islands, and you’ll be staying on the largest one, Viti Levu. The Fiji Hideaway Resort and Spa is located along a stretch of white sandy beach on Fiji’s Coral Coast in the island’s southwest corner. Right in front of the resort, there’s a live reef where guests can snorkel or scuba dive.
Each evening, Local Tagaqe villagers perform a traditional Kava ceremony in which they sit in a circle and pass around a bowl of kava—a mildly narcotic drink. On Thursdays, you can watch a fire walking ceremony.
If you’re up for an excursion, head to Sabeto Hot Springs and Mud Pool, where you can bathe in sulfuric springs and natural pools of mud. The Sri Siva Subramanya Swami Temple is also worth a visit—it’s a colorful Hindu temple that is one of the largest of its kind in the southern hemisphere.
Days 7–10: Auckland, New Zealand
Located on the northern tip of New Zealand’s North Island, Auckland is your home base for the last leg of the trip. You can see the whole city from the 1,076-foot-tall (328-meter) Sky Tower, which has a glass elevator that takes people to the top of the building. Another popular attraction is the Auckland Harbour Bridge Climb over Waitemata Harbour. Adventurous types will swan dive off the bridge—attached to a bungy, of course; the sport of bungy jumping was invented in New Zealand.
