Celebrate New Year’s Eve in Rome

New Year’s Eve is known as La Festa di San Silvestro in Italy, and in Rome, they celebrate it in style. Locals enjoy robust meals, live music, and a colorful parade that marches through Piazza Navona. During this 7-day vacation, you can toast 2015 with a glass of prosecco or watch fireworks light up the Roman sky.

This vacation includes:

  • Round-trip airfare
  • 6 nights of standard accommodations at the H10 Roma Citta, Executive Style Hotel, World Hotel Ripa Roma or similar in Rome
  • One bottle of Prosecco per room
  • Breakfast daily

Rome: The Eternal City

Rome is rightfully called the Eternal City; truly, few places can claim such a deep history while still remaining about as vibrant as it was 2000 years ago. Cars and Vespas clog the streets right alongside streets once walked by Julius Caesar. Among the must-sees are the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, which was the epicenter of ancient Rome.

  • See Michelangelo’s famous frescoes inside the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City
  • Say “Happy New Year” in Italian: Felice Anno Nuovo
  • Trevi Fountain: This Baroque fountain, built in the 18th century, includes friezes of Neptune and his chariot. Visit after dark, when lights illuminate the intricate façade, and be sure to toss a coin over your shoulder into the fountain—legend has it that doing so will guarantee a return trip to Rome.
  • Eat like a local: Pop into a local bakery for a slice of pizza bianca; these flaky white pies are typically brushed with rosemary and olive oil.

You can't beat these deals. GO TODAY has the same a trip on their site for way more. I have traveled with GO TODAY bf, purchased on their site. The trip package and experience is exactly the same. The hotel is nice with transportation right outside and the bus ride to the city center is really short. Can't wait to see what other trips I can book with GO TODAY and GROUPON.
