This was a great trip! I would buy it again! It was the perfect mix of in the rainforest and on the beach, between structured activities and having the freedom to choose what we did.

See volcanoes, white sands beaches, and rainforest wildlife on this 8-day Costa Rican vacation.

See Costa Rica’s Breathtaking Landscape and Exotic Wildlife

This Costa Rican Vacation includes luxury accommodations near three of the country’s most popular destinations: Arenal Volcano, Guanacaste, and downtown San Jose. You’ll have a rental car for the duration of the trip, so it’ll be easy to navigate between hotels and stops to check out the local sights.

This vacation includes:

  • Round-trip airfare (alternate departure dates/gateways may be available for additional fee)
  • 3 nights of standard accommodations at Los Lagos with breakfast
  • 3 nights of all-inclusive (all food and drink) accommodations at Occidental Grand Papagayo (adults-only)
  • 1 night of standard accommodations at Costa Rica Marriott San Jose with breakfast
  • Manual car throughout trip (upgrade to automatic car may be available for additional fee)

La Fortuna: Quiet Village and Hot Springs Near Arenal Volcano

Hotel Los Lagos is your headquarters for this leg of the trip. This resort is abundant with tropical foliage and features natural hot springs and stunning views of Arenal Volcano.

  • Arenal Volcano National Park: The large, conical Arenal Volcano is the centerpiece of this 7,000-acre park. You can navigate through a field of cooled lava rocks that formed after the most recent eruption.
  • Arenal Sky Walk weaves through the rainforest treetops via hanging bridges

Guanacaste: Sunny Beaches and Rare Waterfowl

Occidental Grand Papagayo, an all-inclusive adults-only resort, is just footsteps from the Caribbean Sea in the sun-drenched Guanacaste region, also known as the “Gold Coast.” Onsite, you can do everything from birdwatching to kayaking—keep an eye out for Costa Rica’s legendary quetzal bird.

  • Palo Verde National Park: Here, the Rio Tempisque draws hundreds of thousands of birds to its waters. Toucans, parrots, and even vultures and bats can be seen throughout the surrounding tropical dry forest.
  • Santa Rosa National Park has a diverse landscape of mangrove forests, unspoiled beaches, and swamps. Howler monkeys and olive ridley sea turtles are among the 100-plus species that call the park home.

San Jose: Historical Architecture and Streetside Markets

San Jose is known for its Spanish colonial architecture, and the design of Costa Rica Marriott San Jose fits right into that subset. It’s set on a sprawling coffee plantation; inside, guests will find a tapas bar, wine cellar, and antique furnishings. Downtown San Jose is only 15 minutes away, too.

  • Mercado Central: Browse stalls stocked with fresh coffee beans, jewelry, and cowboy boots, or sample rich Costa Rican coffee at one of the local cafes.
  • Jade Museum houses the most extensive collection of pre-Colombian jade on earth with a showcase of more than 5,000 pieces. Some of them date as far back as 300 B.C.
