    Madrid

This three-day leg of the tour focuses on Madrid's rich culture and includes a visit to the Reina Sofia Art Museum. Its pièce de résistance is Picasso's Guernica, a haunting black and white painting that's interpreted to be symbolic of anti-war sentiments.

    • Museo Nacional del Prado: It might take more than a day to take in this dizzying assortment of masterpieces by El Greco, Goya, Velazquez, and Hieronymous Bosch, but it's well worth it; it also has Renaissance paintings by Botticelli and Raphael.
    • Puerta del Sol is a significant city square home to Spain's beloved El Oso y El Madroño statue, depicting a bear eating from a strawberry tree.
    • Mercado San Miguel: Built in 1916, this recently revamped market has locals selling seafood, fresh produce, and whole chickens; its cafes prepare fresh cafe con leche.
    • Eat like a local: Between sips of manzanilla sherry and bites of tapas, be sure to save room for some cocida, a vegetable and lamb stew that originated in Madrid.
    • Local lingo: ¿Cuanto cuesta? (pronounced "kwan-to kwes-tah") means "How much does it cost?"

Torremolinos / Malaga in Costa del Sol

This breathtaking coastal city of Malaga claims Picasso as a native and is lined with gorgeous centuries-old Moorish architecture. You'll be staying in Torremolinos, just west of the city, a resort town in the foothills of the Mijas Mountains that is popular for its nightlife.

    • Alcazaba Palace in Malaga dates back to around the 11th century and typifies Moorish architecture with ornate archways that lead to patio gardens and stone fountains.
    • Gibralfaro Castle is higher up the hillside than its neighbor, Alcazaba, but it's worth the hike up the ramparts to see sweeping views of the Andalusian Range.
    • Picasso Museum celebrates the artist's life with early sketches, rare cubist paintings, and ceramic works.
    • Plaza de la Merced: Visit this former marketplace to tour Pablo Picasso's birth home and snap pics on a bench next to a bronze statue of the artist.
    • Eat like a local: Streetside cafes and rooftop terraces serve up tortillas de patatas (potato omelets) and oxtail burgers.

I f this is a first trip to Istanbul Airport travelers should know that travel agents do not meet you inside of airport. You are told that they will be holding up signs and to be on schedule to meet them, but they are outside of building {in front}, not at baggage area. It is a great distance from baggage area to front of airport. Airport does not allow travel reps in airport.
