Reviews

  • Our 1 bedroom suite, living room, and bathroom was spacious. Kitchen was clean, small, but had everything we needed to cook and eat meals.

  • I would definitely recommend Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort to my friends and family. We did have a good time, and it's very comfortable and relaxing.

Resort on Lake Tahoe's Southern Edge

The jagged Sierra Nevada peaks encircle the glittering Lake Tahoe. The roofs of Lake Tahoe Vacation Resort, long and lined with their own sharp peaks, seem to pay homage to these mountains, which reside just a short trip away. Located on the lake's southern edge just outside the town of South Lake Tahoe, the resort grants easy access to the region's countless natural wonders. And after a day spent boating, hiking, and fishing, it's an easy trip to the bars, dance clubs, and blackjack tables in the casino district, just a mile away across the Nevada state line.

Guest rooms at the resort are decorated in understated earth tones. After whipping up a meal in the attached kitchen or kitchenette, guests can sit down at a dining-room table tucked neatly against one wall. The front desk rents out DVDs for you to watch on the room's flat-screen TV.

For more indoor diversion, there's pool and ping-pong in the resort's game room. The heated swimming pool is partially enclosed under a canopy, but even with snow on the ground, an outdoor half remains open to catch ski jumpers who overshoot their landing sites.

South Lake Tahoe: Year-Round Haven for Outdoor Adventures and Late-Night Revelry

Lake Tahoe has no real offseason; people find a way to make use of its pristine water, beaches, and mountains all year long. There's also something to do at practically any hour; nightclubs and bars are popular in South Lake Tahoe and stay open until the wee hours of the morning.

Tahoe is the largest alpine lake in North America, and with its size you can get a good view from practically anywhere; innumerable trails wind around the water. The area's world-class skiing is a big draw until early May. Emerald Bay State Park is accessible year-round; high above this bay, you can see waterfalls cascade down granite bluffs.

Situated a few miles northwest of South Lake Tahoe is the neighboring town of Stateline, Nevada, a casino town trimmed in neon. After a day spent trekking or skiing, travelers often flock here to play blackjack and roulette at several lavish resort casinos.
